Instructions and Help about how to file for italian citizenship

Hey what's up in two state 8900 14 of the cynic old life I'm Daniel Faith, and today I'm going to talk to you about obtaining Italian citizenship I've had a few people write to me and ask me exactly how I'm doing it I've been going through the process for almost a year now actually it does take quite a bit of time so if you are interested in doing it I would suggest getting started as soon as possible now there are a number of companies online that you can hire to do the research for you, but honestly it doesn't take too much work to figure out if you're eligible or not basically all you need to do is go through your family tree and find one blood relative that you can link back to Italy after that it's just a matter of obtaining certain dates, so the key ones are the day they were born and the date they became a naturalized citizen I'll use myself an example my grandfather he was born in Sicily, and then he came over to America started having a family now I took five years to become a naturalized citizen uh within those five years my dad was born therefore my dad was born when my grandfather was only an Italian citizen he wasn't an American yet so that's basically how the Italian citizenship got transferred through my dad for me and then once you have figured that out then it's matter of obtaining all the documents so for me, I had to get my grandfather's birth certificate marriage license death certificate my father's birth certificate marriage license and my birth certificate now the American documents are pretty easy to get all your dues go to the public records office show me your information tell them what you're doing they'll have you know the birth certificate sets of your kids within like an hour if you do need to get some documents from Italy then I would recommend hiring a company to do it for you, I had to get my grandfather's birth certificate in marriage license from Sicily and that definitely takes some time because the Italian government is very very very slow it took three months for me to get two sheets of paper I actually ended up hiring a website called my Italian family it cost me $50 per page, but I mean it was great because they write the letter in Italian and send off the Town Hall for you, it works out well if you don't speak the language, so the next step would be to get what's called an apostle seal um this step is pretty much BS to be honest uh you already got the documents from the government I mean they're obviously birth certificates from the US government, but you have to mail them to your state office so for me, I'd mail them to Harrisburg and basically some guy gets them take a look at the document anything looks legit I'll be $15 per page, and then they hand me this which has the seal on it that's basically saying the American document that you got is in fact a real American document it's I think it's very stupid you have to do that, but it is required for citizenship then once you have that all done then you...
