Diamondstone was a 2012 Liberty Union candidate for Vermont State Senate, Windham District. He was an independent candidate for the Windham District in the Vermont State Senate in the November 2, 2010, state legislative elections.

Elections for the Vermont State Senate took place in 2014. A primary election took place on August 26, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 12, 2014. Windham has two state senators. Incumbent Jeanette White and Becca Balint defeated Joan Bowman and Roger Albee in the Democratic primary. Mary Hasson ran as an independent candidate. Aaron Diamondstone and Jerry Levy ran as Liberty Union candidates.[6][7][8][1] White and Balint defeated Hasson, Levy and Diamondstone in the general election.[9]
