Rone's website highlighted the following campaign themes:
“ | Education
As a former teacher myself and the husband of a retired public school teacher, I understand the importance of providing a first-class education in our communities. Fully funding education in our state is a top priority, but I will also fight to make sure our schools in the bootheel are getting their fair share of that funding. We can’t sit back and let urban areas get the lion’s share of funding at the cost of our own children’s education here is Southeast Missouri. 2nd Ammendment [sic] Hunting is a huge passion of mine – deer, turkey, pheasant – you name it, if it’s in season, I’ll hunt it. That’s one of my favourite things to do with my sons and grandchildren. I’m a lifetime member of the NRA and a strong supporter of our second amendment rights. I believe all law-abiding citizens have the right to keep and bear arms. Veterans Our country is great because of the dedicated men and women who sacrifice so much to defend it. As a former member of the National Guard, I have the utmost respect for the dedication and service of our armed forced and all military veterans. It is our responsibility to provide every opportunity to our service men and women as they return home, and it is our moral obligation to ensure all United States veterans are given the benefits and services they are owed. Representing our veterans in Jefferson City will be a privilege and an honor. Pro-Life The life of an unborn child is a precious and miraculous thing that must be protected. I am 100% pro-life and believe that life begins at conception. I am a Christian and attend the First Church of God in Portageville with my wife Myra and my family. My faith in Jesus Christ and his salvation guides me through every day of my life. Agriculture Agriculture is a huge part of the 149th district and has always been a major part of my life. I’ve worked with my family to operate our farm in New Madrid and Pemiscot counties my entire adult life. I also worked for FMC Corporation, Agriculture Solutions Division for 23 years. Operating our family farm I saw first-hand how harmful government over-reach can be to owners and operators of small businesses. I will be a strong advocate for our farmers and business owners, standing up for common sense regulations that help retain and create business opportunities in our district. Small Business Small business owners can be certain that I understand their challenges and recognize their importance to the community. As the owner/operator of a farm business I’ve had the responsibility to make payroll. I have family members who own and operate small town, Main Street, storefronts. Other family members have started their own small businesses and face the challenges of contracting with government agencies. I understand how the laws and regulations enacted in Jefferson City can help determine whether businesses like these succeed across the state. I also understand how helpless and frustrated a small business owner can feel because of those onerous regulations. Missouri must be robust in efforts to retain and attract small businesses that grow jobs. Funds spent at small businesses are more likely to be reinvested in local communities. It only makes sense that growing small businesses in the bootheel is a win-win for employers and our communities.[9][10] |

Scorecards
A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.
Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
