2016
McIntyre's campaign website highlighted the following issues: "Fiscally Conservative:
- My opponent has voted for two of the largest tax increases in South Dakota history in the last two years. SB1 and HB1182 both increased taxes on citizens who can least afford it.
- My promise to you is that I will NOT vote to increase your taxes but rather take a position to find ways to save money, not create another income stream for the government to take money from you and spend as they please.
Socially Conservative:
- I support the efforts of the legislators who brought HB1008 forward. This bill ensured that boys would not be in girls’ bathrooms. My opponent upheld the Governor’s veto of this bill. I would NOT have allowed his veto to stand and would have joined with fellow conservatives to overturn the veto.
- Pro-life.
Education:
- I do not support COMMON CORE for the children in our public schools.[5]
Second Amendment:
- I believe in the 2nd Amendment and the right for all citizens to bear arms."[6]
