Michael Diedrich
Michael Diedrich (Republican Party) was a member of the South Dakota State Senate, representing District 34. He assumed office on January 12, 2021. He left office on January 14, 2025.
Diedrich (Republican Party) ran for re-election to the South Dakota State Senate to represent District 34. He won in the general election on November 8, 2022.
Diedrich served in the South Dakota House of Representatives, representing District 34 from 2017 to 2021. Diedrich succeeded former officeholder Craig Tieszen, who passed away in a kayaking accident on November 22, 2017.[1][2]
Diedrich previously served in the South Dakota State Senate from 1987 to 1991 and from 1993 to 1995.[2]
Biography
Michael Diedrich graduated from Rapid City Central High School. Diedrich earned bachelor's and law degrees from the University of South Dakota, an M.P.A. from the Harvard University, and a master's degree in health care law from Loyola University. His career experience includes working as an attorney.[3]
