John Adams (Ohio US House candidate)
John Adams (Republican Party) ran in a special election to the U.S. House to represent Ohio's 15th Congressional District. He lost in the special Republican primary on August 3, 2021.
Biography
Adams served as a radar repairman in the United States Air Force from 1963 to 1967. He then worked at Empire Detroit Steel Mill in New Boston, Ohio, from 1967 to 1969. He received his A.B. in philosophy from Ohio University in 1972. He was elected to Portsmouth City Council in 1973 and re-elected in 1975. In 1995 and 1999 he was elected to the Portsmouth City School Board. He also served on the Scioto County Joint Vocational Board from 1998 to 1999. He established an industrial manufacturing company in 1977, which he owned and maintained as of the 2016 election.[1]

Adams ran in the 2014 election for the U.S. House to represent Ohio's 3rd District. Adams won the Republican nomination in the primary on May 6, 2014. He was defeated by incumbent Rep. Joyce Beatty (D) in the general election. The general election took place on November 4, 2014.[2]
