Candidate Connection

Robert Warbin completed Ballotpedia's Candidate Connection survey. The survey questions appear in bold and are followed by Warbin's responses.

What would be your top three priorities, if elected?

Improving education, reducing MOdot expenses, reel in public services expenditures.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Education & budgetting overall.

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

I want to be a statesman who does what he says and promotes fairness between all citizens.

What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?

My focus is on making Missouri an even better state and not on a political career. The qualities that will serve that are my ability to problem solve and my ability to get along with and interact with all types of people.

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

To do what is best for their constituency and improve the lives of all Missourians, to the best of their ability.

What legacy would you like to leave?

I would want to be remembered as the representative who served the citizens of Missouri first and foremost, and who did not succumb to special interests.

What is the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember? How old were you at the time?

I remember coming home from kindergarten to my mom crying because the Challenger Shuttle had just exploded.

Do you believe that it’s beneficial for state legislators to have previous experience in government or politics?

No. People are people. They are either honest and responsible or they are not. If one knows people, they know politics.

What do you perceive to be your state’s greatest challenges over the next decade?

Fiscal responsibility and economic growth that is good for all Missourians, not just the rich and powerful.

Do you believe it’s beneficial to build relationships with other legislators? Please explain your answer.

Yes. Being from a third party would also give me an advantage, since I am not immedietly considered "the enemy." Working together allows the most people to benefit, since ideas and objections can be shared.
