Thomas Nelson (South Dakota)
Thomas Nelson is a former Republican member of the South Dakota State Senate, representing the 31st District from 2009 to 2013.
At the end of his term, Nelson was the mayor of the City of Lead.[1]

2010
Nelson ran for re-election to the 31st District seat in 2010. He defeated Nyla Griffith (D) in the general election on November 2, 2010.

On Nov. 4, 2008, Nelson won election to the 31st District Seat in the South Dakota State Senate, defeating opponent Nyla Griffith (D).[4]
Nelson raised $55,913 for his campaign while Griffith raised $20,114.[5]
