By the word of Yahweh [the] heavens were made, and by the breath of his mouth all their host.

"Yahweh possessed me, [the] first of his ways, before his acts {of old}. From eternity, I was set up from [the] first, from the beginning of the earth. read more. When there were no depths, I was brought forth, when there were no springs of {abounding} water. Before mountains had been shaped, before hills, I was brought forth. When he had not yet made earth and fields, or the first dust of the world, {when he established} the heavens, there I [was], {when he drew} a circle upon the face of the deep, {when he made} skies from above, when he founded fountains of the deep, {when he assigned} his limits to the sea, that waters shall not transgress his {command}, {when he marked} the foundations of the earth, I was {beside} him, a master workman, and I was delighting day by day, rejoicing before him {always}, rejoicing in the world of his earth, and my delight [was] with the children of humankind.

so shall be my word that goes out from my mouth. It shall not return to me without success, but shall accomplish what I desire and be successful [in the thing for] which I sent it.

[When] anyone hears the word about the kingdom and does not understand [it], the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is what was sown on the side of the path. And what was sown on the rocky ground--this is the one who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy. read more. But he does not have a root in himself, but {lasts only a little while}, and [when] affliction or persecution happens because of the word, immediately he falls away. And what was sown into the thorn plants--this is the one who hears the word, and the anxiety of this world and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word and it becomes unproductive. But what was sown on the good soil--this is the one who hears the word and understands [it], who indeed bears fruit and produces, this one a hundred [times as much], and this one sixty, and this one thirty."

For everyone who practices evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds be exposed. But the one who practices the truth comes to the light, in order that his deeds may be revealed, that they are done in God.

Then Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life in yourselves! The one who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. read more. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. The one who eats my flesh and drinks my blood resides in me and I in him. Just as the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, [so] also the one who eats me--that one will live because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven, not as the fathers ate and died. The one who eats this bread will live {forever}."

Then Jesus cried out in the temple [courts], teaching and saying, "You both know me and you know where I am from! And I have not come from myself, but the one who sent me is true, whom you do not know. I know him, because I am from him and he sent me."

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light of the world! The one who follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

Jesus answered and said to them, "Even if I testify concerning myself, my testimony is true, because I know where I have come from and where I am going. But you do not know where I have come from or where I am going.

But even if I judge, my judgment is true, because I am not alone, but I and the Father who sent me.

My Father, who has given [them] to me, is greater than all, and no one can seize [them] from the Father's hand.

But Jesus cried out and said, "The one who believes in me does not believe in me, but in the one who sent me, and the one who sees me sees the one who sent me. read more. I have come [as] a light into the world, in order that everyone who believes in me will not remain in the darkness. And if anyone hears my words and does not observe [them], I will not judge him. For I have not come to judge the world, but to save the world. The one who rejects me and does not accept my words has one who judges him; the word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day. For I have not spoken from myself, but the Father himself who sent me {has commanded me} what I should say and what I should speak. And I know that his commandment is eternal life. So [the things] that I say, just as the Father said to me, thus I say."

Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you know him and have seen him." read more. Philip said to him, "Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us." Jesus said to him, "Am I with you so long a time and you have not known me, Philip? The one who has seen me has seen the Father! How can you say, 'Show us the Father?' Do you not believe that I [am] in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak from myself, but the Father residing in me does his works. Believe me that I [am] in the Father and the Father [is] in me; but if not, believe because of the works themselves.

And now, Father, you glorify me {at your side} with the glory that I had {at your side} before the world existed.

because the words that you gave to me I have given to them, and they received [them] and know truly that I have come from you, and they have believed that you have sent me.

"Father, [those] whom you have given to me--I want that those also may be with me where I am, in order that they may see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world.

but these [things] are recorded in order that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that [by] believing you may have life in his name.

and most of the brothers, trusting in the Lord because of my imprisonment, dare [even] more to speak the word without fear.

Think this in yourselves which [was] also in Christ Jesus, who, existing in the form of God, did not consider being equal with God something to be grasped, read more. but emptied himself [by] taking the form of a slave, [by] becoming in the likeness of people. And being found in appearance like a man, he humbled himself [by] becoming obedient to the point of death, that is, death on a cross. Therefore also God exalted him and graciously granted him the name above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of [those] in heaven and of [those] on earth and of [those] under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ [is] Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

who has rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred [us] to the kingdom of the Son {he loves}, in whom we have the redemption, the forgiveness of sins, read more. who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation, because all [things] in the heavens and on the earth were created by him, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or powers, all [things] were created through him and for him, and he himself is before all [things], and in him all [things] are held together, and he himself is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that he himself may become first in everything, because he was well pleased [for] all the fullness to dwell in him, and through him to reconcile all [things] to himself, [by] making peace through the blood of his cross, through him, whether things on earth or things in heaven.

because in him all the fullness of deity dwells bodily,

[Although] God spoke long ago in many parts and in many ways to the fathers by the prophets, in these last days he has spoken to us by a Son, whom he appointed heir of all [things], through whom also he made the world, read more. who is the radiance of his glory and the representation of his essence, sustaining all [things] by the word of power. [When he] had made purification for sins through him, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become by so much better than the angels, by as much as he has inherited a more excellent name than theirs.

What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and our hands have touched, concerning the word of life--

For [there] are three that testify,

And [he was] dressed in an outer garment dipped in blood, and his name is called the Word of God.
