The hireling flees, because he is a hireling, and cares not for the sheep. I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to work it and to keep it.

And he began to speak unto them by parables. What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the tenants, and will give the vineyard unto others.

O Timothy, keep that which is committed to your trust, avoiding profane and vain utterances, and oppositions of what is falsely called knowledge:
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
Like as a father pities his children, so the LORD pities them that fear him. For he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust.
But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever.
Cursed is he that does the work of the LORD deceitfully, and cursed is he that keeps back his sword from blood.

Thus speaks the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and show mercy and compassion every man to his brother: And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the sojourner, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.
But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
Be anxious for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, How shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things.

He also that received seed among the thorns is he that hears the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.
And these are they who are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.
And that which fell among thorns are they, who, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to maturity.
But Martha was cumbered about with much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary has chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be weighed down with carousing, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
But I would have you without concern. He that is unmarried cares for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord: But he that is married cares for the things that are of the world, how he may please his wife. There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman cares for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married cares for the things of the world, how she may please her husband.
I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his offspring begging bread.
Cast your burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain you: he shall never permit the righteous to be moved.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart; and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths.
Surely he has borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.
Come unto me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest unto your souls.
And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take you no thought how or what thing you shall answer, or what you shall say: For the Holy Spirit shall teach you in the same hour what you ought to say.
