For as the days of Noe were, so shall be the coming of the Son of Man. For, as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day on which Noe entered into the ark,

but had a rebuke for his own transgression; a dumb beast-of-burden, speaking in man's voice, forbade the prophet's madness. These are fountains without water, and mists driven by a storm, for whom the blackness of darkness has been reserved. For, uttering great swelling words of vanity, they entice, in desires of the flesh, by their lasciviousness, those just escaping from those who live in error; promising them liberty, while they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by what one is overcome by this he has become enslaved.
