And Jesus said to His disciples, “Truly I say to you, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.
And Jesus, looking around, *said to His disciples, “How hard it will be for those who are wealthy to enter the kingdom of God!”
And Jesus looked at him and said, “How hard it is for those who are wealthy to enter the kingdom of God!
It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”

“Now there was a rich man, and he habitually dressed in purple and fine linen, joyously living in splendor every day.

Now what will you do in the day of punishment,

Riches do not profit in the day of wrath,
But righteousness delivers from death.

And their houses desolate;
Yes, they will build houses but not inhabit them,
And plant vineyards but not drink their wine.”

When you set your eyes on it, it is gone.
For wealth certainly makes itself wings
Like an eagle that flies toward the heavens.

and the rich man is to glory in his humiliation, because like flowering grass he will pass away. For the sun rises with a scorching wind and withers the grass; and its flower falls off and the beauty of its appearance is destroyed; so too the rich man in the midst of his pursuits will fade away.
But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction.
A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children,
And the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous.
For he sees that even wise men die;
The stupid and the senseless alike perish
And leave their wealth to others.
“Surely every man walks about as a phantom;
Surely they make an uproar for nothing;
He amasses riches and does not know who will gather them.
“He returns what he has attained
And cannot swallow it;
As to the riches of his trading,
He cannot even enjoy them.
folly is set in many exalted places while rich men sit in humble places.
Better is the poor who walks in his integrity
Than he who is crooked though he be rich.
Also they will make a spoil of your riches and a prey of your merchandise, break down your walls and destroy your pleasant houses, and throw your stones and your timbers and your debris into the water.
Who long for death, but there is none,
And dig for it more than for hidden treasures,
