If thou see thine enemy's ass sink under his burden, thou shalt not pass by and let him alone: but shalt help him to lift him up again.
And now, where my father put a grievous yoke upon you, I will make it heavier. For where my father corrected you with scourges, I will chastise you with scorpions."
and spake to them after the counsel of the young men, saying, "My father made your yoke grievous, but I will make it grievouser. For where my father chastised you with whips, I will chastise you with scorpions."
O how good is it, for a man, to take the yoke upon him from his youth up?
Yea, and they bind heavy burdens, and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders: but they themselves will not heave at them with one of their fingers.
Then he said, "Woe be to you also ye lawyers: for ye lade men with burdens grievous to be born, and ye yourselves touch not the packs with one of your fingers.
Behold, I will crash you in sunder, like as a wain crasheth, that is full of sheaves:
And Moses said unto the LORD, "Wherefore dealest thou so cruelly with thy servant? Wherefore do I not find favour in thy sight, seeing that thou puttest the weight of this people upon me?
And I said unto you the same season, 'I am not able to bear you myself alone.
'How,' said I, 'can I myself alone bear the cumbrance, charge, and strife that is among you?
For the old captains that were before me, had been chargeable unto the people, and had taken of them bread and wine, and forty sicles of silver: yea and their servants had oppressed the people. But so did not I, and that because of the fear of God.
The stone is heavy, and the sand weighty; but a fool's wrath is heavier than them both.
Heaviness discourageth the heart of man, but a good word maketh it glad again.
For my wickednesses are gone over my head, and are like a sore burden, too heavy for me to bear.
{Nun} The yoke of my transgression is come at the last; with his hand hath he taken it up, and put it about my neck. My strength is gone: the LORD hath delivered me into those hands, whereout I cannot quit myself.
'These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us which have borne the burden and heat of the day.'
