For there is hope of a tree, if it is cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch of it will not cease. Though the root of it grows old in the earth, and the trunk of it dies in the ground, yet through the scent of water it will bud, and put forth boughs like a plant.

Turn again, we beseech thee, O God of hosts. Look down from heaven, and, behold, and visit this vine, and the stock which thy right hand planted, and the branch that thou made strong for thyself.

Woe to those who are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink, who justify the wicked for rewards, and take away the justice of the righteous man from him! Therefore as the tongue of fire devours the stubble, and as the dry grass sinks down in the flame, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust, because they have rejected the law of LORD of hosts, an

And the firstborn of the poor shall feed, and the needy shall lie down in safety. And I will kill thy root with famine, and thy remnant shall be slain.

And this shall be the sign to thee.
