And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual, but as to carnal, even as to babes in Christ.

Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing. For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need of one to teach you again which are the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong food. But strong food belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.

Brethren, be not children in understanding: yet in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.

Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he is lord of all;

But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed by the father.

Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:

That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, by which they lie in wait to deceive:
