who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify to himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
But we see Jesus for a little while made lower than angels, by the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour, that, by the grace of God, he might taste of death for every one.
For hereunto have ye been called, because Christ also hath suffered for you, leaving you a pattern, that ye should follow his steps;
By this we have known the love [of Christ], because for us he laid down his own life: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

so Christ having been once offered in sacrifice to bear the sins of men, will appear the second time without sin, to those who expect him, for their salvation.
and he died for all, that they who live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him that died for them, and rose again.
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
For could I myself wish that an anathema should be from Christ upon my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh?
