Let us rejoice and be glad, and give glory to him: for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his wife has made herself ready. And to her was given that she should be clothed in fine linen, clean arid white; for the fine linen is the righteousness of the saints.

Now, according to the Jewish custom of purifying, six water-pots of stone had been set there, containing each two or three baths. Jesus said to them: Fill the water-pots with water. And they filled them to the brim. And he said to them: Draw out now, and carry it to the governor of the feast. And they carried it. When the governor of the feast had tasted the water that had been made wine, (and he knew not whence it was, but the servants that had drawn the water knew,) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, and said to him: Every man sets out the good wine first, and when they have drunk freely, then that which is inferior; but you have kept the good wino till now.

And he said to me: Write, Blessed are they that are called to the marriage-supper of the Lamb. And he said to me: These are the true words of God.

And on the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there. And both Jesus and his disciples were invited to the marriage.

and sent his servants to call those who had been invited to the marriage feast; and they refused to come. Again, he sent other servants, saying, Tell those who have been invited, Behold, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come to the marriage feast. And the rest laid hold of his servants, and abused them, and killed them. And when that king heard of it, he was angry, and sent his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city. Then he said to his servants: The marriage feast is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy. Go, therefore, to the cross-ways, and invite to the marriage feast as many as you find. And those servants went out into the roads, and brought together all, as many as they found, both bad and good: and the banquet-room was filled with guests.

When you are invited by any one to a wedding, do not recline in the first place, lest a more honorable man than you may have been invited by him; and he that invited you and him, come and say to you, Give place to this man; and then you shall begin with shame to take the last place. But when you are invited, go and recline in the last place, that when he that invited you shall come, he may say to you, Friend, go up higher. Then you shall have honor in the presence of those who recline with you.

He that has the bride, is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly on account of the voice of the bridegroom. This, my joy, is therefore complete.

And Jesus said to them: Can the sons of the bride-chamber mourn while the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then will they fast.

And Jesus said to them: Can the sons of the bride-chamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them, they can not fast.

And he said to them: Can you make the sons of the bride-chamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them?

Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened to ten virgins, who took their lamps and went out to meet the bride-groom. Five of them were wise, and five were foolish. Those who were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:read more.

Go you out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise: Give us of your oil, for our lamps are going out. But the wise answered, saying: Lest there may not be enough for us and you, go rather to those who sell, and buy for your selves. While they were going to buy, the bridegroom came; and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage supper; and the door was closed.
