Course @ a Glance

One of the largest departments in RRMCH imparting training to UGs, PGS and dental students, providing quality surgical care and pursuing research work. The Department has well equipped outpatient complex, six surgical wards, lecture / demonstration rooms and a capability to perform excellent general surgical procedures.

The faculty consists of highly experienced surgeons who endeavor to take students' knowledge and skill in surgery to a higher level. Undergraduate students are trained with the belief that not only theoretical knowledge but also clinical observation and surgical skills shape the future of budding medical doctors. Faculty remains up to date by regularly attending National and State Conferences and present scientific papers in these fora, besides utilizing every opportunity in learning newer surgical techniques at other premier centers. They are dedicated to improving standards of surgical care, and take part in clinical trials to advance treatment. The general surgeons work closely with super-specialists and faculty of other Departments at all times to diagnose and provide timely surgical intervention for complex conditions.

Eligibility

For General Category (GC) Candidate

• The candidate who holds MBBS degree from recognized Medical College and whose has obtained full registration from Medical Council of India or any of the state Medical councils after completing compulsory rotating internship.

• Securing not less than 50% marks in last 4 & ½ years.

• + 50% marks in either of the Entrance Test that includes All India PG Medical Entrance Exam (AIPGMEE) / PG Entrance Test (PGET) / Karnataka Religious and Linguistic Minority (KRLM)

For Scheduled Cast (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) / Other Backward Community (OBC) Candidate

• The candidate who holds MBBS degree from recognized Medical College and whose has obtained full registration from Medical Council of India or any of the state Medical councils after completing compulsory rotating internship.

• Securing not less than 40% marks in last 4 & ½ Years

• + 40% marks in either of Entrance Test that includes All India PG Medical Entrance Exam (AIPGMEE) / PG Entrance Test (PGET) / Karnataka Religious and Linguistic Minority (KRLM).

Candidates from outside Karnataka State

• Candidates from outside Karnataka State must get Migration certificate from respective State & Eligibility certificate from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.

• Candidates of minority status should have certificate from appropriate authorities.
