Celebrity Bainisteoir was a prime-time reality programme created by Fiona Looney and first broadcast in 2008 by RTÉ. It involved a number of celebrities competing against each other as a Gaelic football team coach. The title derived from the Irish word for manager: bainisteoir [ˈbˠanʲəʃtʲoːɾʲ]. The series ran successfully for five years. It was axed in 2013 and replaced with Ireland's Fittest Family.
