- Se denomina Ruta Imperial de la Comunidad de Madrid a un itinerario turístico promocionado por la Consejería de Cultura y Turismo de esta región española, que recorre varios municipios de la sierra de Guadarrama. Sigue parcialmente el camino histórico que conducía hasta el monasterio de El Escorial, empleado en el siglo XVI por el rey Felipe II, en sus desplazamientos desde la ciudad de Madrid hasta el Real Sitio. La Ruta Imperial tiene como núcleo central a este monumento, que, en 1984, recibió la declaración de Patrimonio de la Humanidad por parte de la Unesco, junto con todo el Real Sitio. Este se extiende sobre los términos municipales de San Lorenzo de El Escorial y El Escorial, en los que se encuentran edificios, obras de ingeniería y jardines de gran valor histórico-artístico. En la primera localidad destacan, además del Real Monasterio, las Casas de Oficios y la Casita del Infante (o de Arriba) y, en la segunda, la Casita del Príncipe (o de Abajo). Este conjunto monumental se complementa con la oferta turística que ofrecen diferentes municipios cercanos al Monasterio, pertenecientes tanto a la comarca de la Sierra Oeste de Madrid como a la de la cuenca del Guadarrama. En ellos se reúne un modesto pero relevante patrimonio artístico y la existencia de espacios naturales de gran interés paisajístico y medioambiental. (es)
- The Imperial Route of the Community of Madrid is the tourist itinerary promoted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of this Spanish region, which runs through several municipalities in the Sierra de Guadarrama. It partially follows the historical road that led to the Monastery of El Escorial, used in the 16th century by King Philip II in his travels from the city of Madrid to the Royal Site. The Imperial Route has as its central core this monument, which, in 1984, was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, along with the entire Royal Site. This extends over the municipalities of San Lorenzo de El Escorial and El Escorial, where there are buildings, engineering works and gardens of great historical and artistic value. In the former, in addition to the Royal Monastery, the Casas de Oficios and the Casita del Infante (or "de Arriba") stand out, and in the latter, the Casita del Príncipe (or "de Abajo"). This monumental complex is complemented by the tourist offer offered by different municipalities near the Monastery, belonging both to the region of the Sierra Oeste de Madrid and to that of the Guadarrama basin. In them there is a modest but relevant artistic heritage and the existence of natural areas of great scenic and environmental interest. (en)

Segue parcialmente a estrada histórica que levou ao mosteiro de El Escorial, usado no século XVI pelo rei Felipe II, em suas viagens da cidade de Madrid para o local real. A Rota Imperial tem como núcleo central este monumento que, em 1984, foi declarado Patrimônio da Humanidade pela Unesco, juntamente com todo o Sítio Real. Esta se estende sobre os termos municipais de San Lorenzo de El Escorial e El Escorial, nos quais se encontram edifícios, obras de engenharia e jardins de grande valor histórico-artístico. Na primeira localidade destacam, além do Real Mosteiro, as Casas de Artesanato e a (ou de cima) e, na segunda, a (ou de baixo). (pt)
