The “yellow spotted lizards” mentioned in the movie Holes do not actually exist. There are only two venomous lizards in North America: the Gila monster, which lives in the American Southwest, and the Mexican beaded lizard, which lives in northern Mexico.
The animals shown in the movie are in fact Bearded dragons, painted with a non-toxic children’s finger paint and with CGI fangs.
