Usage notes

There is some disagreement among dictionaries regarding which is the main reading.

The Kokugo Dai Jiten,^[1] Dajisen,^[5] and Daijirin^[2] all list ansokunichi as the main reading, with ansokujitsu and ansokubi as alternatives.
The Shin Meikai fifth edition lists ansokubi as the main reading, with ansokujitsu as an alternative.^[4]
The NHK Hatsuon Akusento Jiten lists ansokubi as the only reading.^[3]

The Kokugo Dai Jiten says Christians today use ansokunichi, although Catholics used ansokujitsu in the past.^[6]
