Penny?

How about a dollar? File:Morgan dollar.jpg--intelati(Call) 06:06, 10 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As a interesting point of order, the United States doesn't have any such thing as "pennies"; we have cents. A penny is a British coin that originally was one-twelfth of a Shilling, of which there were twenty to the Pound. (And at one point, the Brits had Farthings worth a quarter of a penny, and some of the colonies had quarter-farthings!) Yeah, I know, everyone in the US calls those brown round things with pictures of Abraham Lincoln on them pennies; still doesn't make it correct. Okay, it is interesting to me, maybe to no one else. And you can have your Morgan, as far as I'm concerned, [1] is the prettiest coin ever struck; Victoria's Una and the Lion (Actually, how is it that Una and the Lion is a redlink? Writing enough about that coin to make a DYK would be the height of triviality. Courcelles 06:28, 10 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You certainly have a head full of trivia Courcelles, I never knew about this up until now. Weren't Farthings also called Penny-Farthings? I remember my old primary school teacher talked about the days before Decimal Currency in Australia (before the 14th of February 1966) I've still got the song stuck in my head... "in come the dollars in come the cents". And of course Googling Dollar BIll Campaign can get you the song. Ғяіᴆaз'§Đøøм | Champagne? 11:47, 10 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I think you'll find that a Penny-farthing is a bicycle, so named because of it resembling a penny and a farthing coin next to each other :) - Happysailor (Talk) 11:50, 10 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I think it's interesting how much British heritage is retained in the US, much as they won't admint it! We all know they really want to put Her Majesty on their currency. ;) HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 14:04, 10 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Puttering along... fixing articles as I am able and trying to convince others in discussions that Wikipedia accepts that it is a work in progress, encourages improvement over flat-out deletion whenever possible, does not demand immediate perfection, and that the project still wishes to grow and is not running out of time. The strange insistance now-a-days that everything be immediately perfect "RIGHT NOW" kinda runs against the spirit of the project and why it was created. I suppose some find it easier to critique the weaknesss in someone else's work, rather than to roll up their own sleeves and help find ways to improve that which may have the potential for improvement. Sigh. However, my own save count is now over 300,[2] and all I can hope is that continued good work might act as an example to others. And I thought I'd make a go at becoming one of the coordinators over at WikiProject Films. [3]
I see that the mop is keeping you quite busy.... but I may be dropping you a few requests in the near future to evaluate an article or two that may be ready to leave the incubator. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 03:33, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker) Technically, the American one-cent piece is referred to as the penny. ~NerdyScienceDude 04:18, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No, that is colloquial usage, not technical, as even the lede of the article says. Why we have it at that title is something I don't quite understand. WP:COMMONNAME I guess, though that produces some strange names to subject-matter knowledgeable folks. Courcelles 04:27, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi HJ, would you mind rev-deleting the revisions of this article since it's been subject to resubmission with the same plagiarised text. Thanks. Ғяіᴆaз'§Đøøм | Champagne? 08:47, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As long as it stays blanked, it should be OK. If it ever is moved into the mainspace, then the old fashioned delete and partial undelete would be the best way to deal with it, but it looks like the whole thing would go under G11 before I got chance. Good Morning HJ, User:Bhockey10 has copy/pasted a move of WCHA to WCHA (AM). Of course this disconnects the history. Move the information and history back to WCHA where it belongs and add a hatlink? Thanks for your help. - NeutralhomerTalk11:54, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

<sigh> It's not like there's a move button at the top of the screen. Oh wait, there is! Sure I'll clean it up for you, which title do you want it at? HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 12:04, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
At WCHA please. I know, people just don't see that "Move" button, they just copy/paste. Drives me just a crazy. If you wouldn't mind adding the hatlink to the copied redirect, that would be good as well. :) Thanks Dude. :) - NeutralhomerTalk12:05, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Excellent! Thank you, Sir. :) I added a post about not doing copy/paste moves here. You can always add to it if you wish. - NeutralhomerTalk12:11, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You beat me to it. I gave him a {{uw-c&pmove}}, which at least contains information about how to move it and asked him to discuss it on the talk page. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 12:13, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That works better probably since it has links and such. Thanks HJ :) Hope you have a good day. :) - NeutralhomerTalk12:18, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Admin Poser

Hey, I don't know what the policy is on users claiming they are WP:SYSOP on wikipedia, but User:Alaaan seems to have done so, as he does not show up in Special:ListUsers. Not sure if it is a misunderstanding in trying to get around editfilters on Fort Gay, West Virginia to make the word "Gay" stand out more with no wiki code. Party in the U.S.A. GA again

I'm sorry to bother you with "Party in the U.S.A." again, but are you done with the tasks you were to do before? I really need for this article to be a GA. -- ipodnano05 * leave@message 17:43, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

WCHA Mess!

The WCHA links are an absolute disaster, I don't see away around a cut and paste since the desired location already existed. WCHA (AM) is where the radio station info should be, it was previously and wrongly redirected to the college hockey conference Western Collegiate Hockey Association. WCHA should be redirected to the hockey conferenece or a disam page. If there's another way to make those edits without a cute and paste move, it'd like to know Bhockey10 (talk) 18:35, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There is a way to do it without a cut an pate moves. Ask and admin. If there's a consensus to move the page, I'll do it and it'll take me about 10 seconds. In the meantime, please revert your second cut and paste move and start a discussion on the talk page. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 18:42, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, it's moved back to the previous mess, EXCEPT I redirected WCHA (AM) back to WCHA (the radio station article) instead of the incorrect loaction- college hockey conference.

If You're an admin, I don't think it needs a discussion, as right now the current article is against Radio naming conventions and should be at the WCHA (AM) location. Bhockey10 (talk) 18:56, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Better idea. The redirect is gone, through a slight bending of CSD R3. That way, you can move a page to it properly without admin intervention and without cutting and pasting! :) If somebody objects and moves it back, though, you'll have to discuss it before moving it again. Best, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 20:14, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! I didn't like the cut and paste move but late last night I wasn't even thinking of admin help. Now I can make the move as an easy regular move (what i would have done if someone didnt create that bad redirect page to the wrong thing :-P.Bhockey10 (talk) 20:52, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • The above user has moved (properly) WCHA to WCHA (AM), but left "WCHA" as a redirect to "WCHA (AM)". This is just silly and a waste of a move, especially with the hatlink that is still on the page. I am unsure what the user is trying to do, but if they want to create a disambig page, that I will understand, but at present, it is a redirect. - NeutralhomerTalk21:12, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well when a non-admin moves a page, there's no way to stop it leaving a redirect to the new title, sogive him time to do whatever he's going to do. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 21:16, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I already brought it up to Neutralhomer, but since he did here, I'll fill you in: Neutralhomer caught the move less than a min after I made the move and before fixing the redirect was fixing direct links from it's sister station WHAG (AM) (note: the proper naming convention already exists there), the parent broadcasting company's article, and a local radio market template. I think everything is cleared up now that all the redirects and links are fixed.Bhockey10 (talk) 21:42, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Edit War

Thanks for your help earlier, while starting out helpful and as a discussion, User:Neutralhomer is on the verge of starting an edit war. Despite explaining reasons and what started civily he has esculated and reverted edits for which I brought logical explainations. In this case WCHA which he would like as a disamb page. I brought up the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. As I put it to him when accused of biased toward the hockey article- "I'm not biased towards the WCHA Hockey. If the radio station had 500+ edits and pages of articles in a google search I'd be supporting that it was the Primary topic." I don't want to bother you but he warned he was bringing it up to an admin and accused me of creating an edit war first.Bhockey10 (talk) 22:37, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The user wants to create a straight redirect (apparently their intention all along) to this hockey league. The hatlink was enough. They moved it correctly, now we have a disambig page. OK, fine. Not good enough for them. So they want a straight redirect. This is clear OWNership of the article. We are both at 3RR, I have issued a warning to the user in case they aren't aware. This is just plain silly. Hatlink was enough, disambig page is enough, no need for a straight redirect. Soap even agreed with that (bottom of the post) but decided to stay out of it. - NeutralhomerTalk23:00, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You have exceeded the 3RR rule claiming in good faith. Which I could do as well, but have stopped editing. As I have said, you don't seem to change/see that there is a clear issue of Primary Topic and a Disambig page is 2nd best option. As I have said many times, bring the idea for a disambig page vs straight redirect up on the talk page for WP:Consensus. Bhockey10 (talk) 23:05, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
OK, let's discuss this on your talk page, no need to keep this going in two places. Don't need to light up HJ's page for no reason. - NeutralhomerTalk23:08, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Appreciate the consideration. I have to ask, though, is this really worth edit warring over? Can't you just use a hatnote, like {{redirect}}? HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 23:17, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, I thought the hatnote to the hockey league on the radio page was enough, but I was wrong. I think the disambig is enough, I am still wrong. This user wants nothing but a straight (and unnecessary) redirect to some probably non-notable hockey league. The disambig is enough and really no reason has been presented on why the disambig isn't a good idea other than some Google results (which change every minute almost now). I compromised on the disambig page, I don't know how I can compromise anymore. - NeutralhomerTalk23:22, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No, it's not worth an edit war, it hasn't helped that Neutralhomer has been less than civil at certain points of the discussion. With only two pages of similar names we have hatnotes on top of each now. My argument is that the sports page is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC shown by google search, edit histories, and Wikipedia article traffic statistics.Bhockey10 (talk) I esp don't think the disambig page is worth it with only two articles of similar names and also due to one being primary over the other. And as I've said to Neutral when accused it's not bias- hockey vs. radio issue (my username has hockey in the title but I am heavily involved in radio as well as a hockey player)! if the radio station was the primary topic i would argue it should be the straight redirect.Bhockey10 (talk) 23:53, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

We have disambig pages with only two entries, one being a non-radio station and one being a radio station. We have some that are both radio stations. A disambig is for two or more entries, doesn't matter if one has 1,000,000 views a day and the other 1 a month, they would get equal billing on the disambig page. Hell, I even put the hockey league first on the disambig page as an even greater compromise. You just aren't willing to compromise. You want the straight redirect or nothing. That is OWNing and not being in good faith. - NeutralhomerTalk00:13, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As one of the main developers of Template:Infobox animanga/Video, I have to protest the full protection of this template. The template has been stable for some time, with only minor edits tweaking the template here or there. Full protection, cuts off any further development by myself or other members of WP:ANIME, which is completely undesirable. There has been no history of vandalism with the template to require anything more than semi-protection. —Farix (t | c) 00:20, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The same goes for Template:Infobox animanga/Print, whose permissions where changed a few months ago so I would be able to further develop or tweak it. —Farix (t | c) 00:25, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not protecting these individually. I'm using Twinkle to batch-protect everything on a database report of unprotected templates transcluded on more than 500 pages. The templates I just protected were transcluded on over 1300 pages, but I'll reduce those to semi since you asked. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 00:29, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps you should be more careful in your use of tools. Looking through your edit history, you are unnecessarily protecting many templates that don't need full protection, such as WikiProject templates which, except for a handful of exceptions, should never be fully protected. Also, 500 transclusions is an extremely low amount for full protection. —Farix (t | c) 00:39, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Will you cut it out all ready? Your are fully protecting templates that don't need to be fully protected. —Farix (t | c) 02:50, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If there are any pages that you need to edit, simply give me a list of links and I'll change the protection level. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 02:56, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Which templates, how about every WikiProject tag and everything under Template:Infobox animanga. The thing is, you shouldn't be fully protecting templates simply because they are transcluded a couple 100 times. Semi-protection may be desirable, but full protection should be done on a case by case bases. If you don't stop this mass full protections, then I may have to take this to WP:ANI for a resolution. —Farix (t | c) 02:59, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Please read WP:HRT. The effects of vandalism on a template transcluded on thousands of pages are for less desirable than a wait for an {{editprotected}} request and it's simply not feasible to manually evaluate the necessary protection level of 5,000 pages. anyway, they've all been done by myself and at least two other admins. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 03:04, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Except for a few exceptions, there is absolutely no need to fully protect most templates, even if then are heavily used. WikiProject banners especially should not be protected except for perhaps three banners (biography, military, and film). Since you are unwilling to downgrade all of your protections to semi-protection and are blindly fully protecting every template you come across, I guess I have no choice then to take this up at WP:ANI. —Farix (t | c) 03:10, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Please read the edit summaries for my log entries. Read it nice and slow and let me know if the part about the (linked) database report or "changes can be requested at WP:RFUP" is ambiguous to you and I'll explain it using nice, small words. In the meantime, I've unprotected all subpages of the infobox you requested, but apparently you still won't leave me alone. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 03:14, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Can you reduce protection from full to semi? This looks like it got batched (it did actually), and since I have seen Whisky Drinker update it, I hope you know why it should not be fully protected. Allmightyduck  What did I do wrong? 00:32, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi HJ,

What is "batch protection"? I'm wondering if it's possible to protect what's in transclusions of a template (such as the IPA-fr you just protected) without protecting the entire article it's embedded in, or if it's possible to be notified if transclusions of a template have been modified; say, if someone changed the French pronunciation of an article in the IPA-fr template. I have over a thousand articles on my watch list because of IPA matters, where I care nothing about the article as a whole, and it would be nice to be notified specifically for modifications of IPA transclusions. — kwami (talk) 01:59, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Batch protection is a feature of Twinkle that lets one protect every page linked from the page you're on in just a few clicks rather than manually opening each page. All that's been protected is the templates themselves. It won;t affect any of the pages the template is used on. Does that answer your question? I'm not sure. Is what you're saying that when you batch protect {{IPA-fr}}, all French IPA transclusions in all articles are protected from editing, but that the rest of the articles are not? That would be perfect, and should perhaps be done with IPA-en and pron-en. A lot of IPA transcriptions are messed up by anon IPs who don't know what they're doing (such as subbing the IPA with respellings, or Spanish with English); given the 11,000 just for English, that's a lot to keep track of. (Logged-in accounts aren't normally a problem, and the few problematic ones tend to become good IPA editors once they understand the system.)
Also, is it a one-time thing, or do subsequent transclusions inherit the protection?
Or did you just protect the code of the templates themselves, leaving any text embedded in transclusions of those templates free for editing? — kwami (talk) 02:09, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Only the code of the templates themselves would have been protected. The Thing // Talk // Contribs 02:13, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I did the last two pages of these. Nice teamwork- and nice way to make our admin logs an absolute mess. Courcelles 02:36, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Eek. Your protections are filling up Recent Changes. Everard Proudfoot (talk) 02:47, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That's not good. It'll be done in a minute, though. I'm on the last (or rather first) thousand and it's nearly done. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 02:50, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Heads up

Somebody is vandalizing pages (like this one in your name. Granted, the history page shows who the real vandal is, but at first glance--without looking at the history page--it appears that the vandal is you. Take care, *Kat* (talk) 01:53, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've seen it. My name is also in his block log! ;) I found it quite amusing really! HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 01:56, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Nom'd it for RevDel at the RFO page. - NeutralhomerTalk01:59, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know; it was pretty funny to read. Maybe we should keep it for humor value? :P ~~ Hi878 (Come shout at me!) 02:00, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
If I was remotely offended (as opposed to highly amused) by it, I would have revdel'd it myself. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 02:04, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Quite amusing! Connormah (talk) 02:04, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, I think it is funny as hell, but my concern is that people might think (just by looking at the page and not the name) that it is HJ, hence why I let an admin decide on it. Thought my personal opinion it shouldn't be RevDel'd and should actually be linked somewhere. :) - NeutralhomerTalk02:06, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
FYI, it has been revdeleted by Rlevse. ~NerdyScienceDude 02:07, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well Rlevse has deleted it, but I might ask if I can have the edit summary back so I can frame it and put it on my userpage because that really tickled me! HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 02:08, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The edit summary is still there. It says, (Yet another coup d'état where this time the noble HJ Mitchell is responsible.)--*Kat* (talk) 02:44, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It appears Rlevse revdeleted it again. ~NerdyScienceDude 14:35, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What exactly was the purpose of fully protecting the template? They've been around since 2007, where only the 'to do' template has been vandalized only once. By adding such a high-level protection, no one who participates in the Cambodian Wiki Project can actively contribute to the page. This further goes against the norms established over at Wikipedia:Protection policy and also goes against the first criteria mentioned over on Wikipedia:High-risk templates which you cited. "Page protection may be permanently applied to all templates and template redirects that have been identified by the community as being of high risk to Wikipedia". Please consider lowering if not removing the protection level. — Io Katai ᵀᵃˡᵏ 03:20, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Unprotected the first, semi'd the second. If there are any more you need changing, just ask. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 03:28, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Tripping over each other.

[4] Something's wrong with edit conflicts... I didn't mean to override your edits here. I think things are the same, so I won't risk more of a mess by fixing things, though. Courcelles 03:20, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Template full protection

Hello, HJ. Is there a reason you full protected a slew of templates? There are a number of non-admins who work on those templates. Wouldn't semi be enough? Thank you. -- Avi (talk) 03:22, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I protected a load from the first two pages of a database report per a suggestion on RfPP. If anybody wants a specific page unprotected, all they need do is ask and I'll downgrade it or unprotect it. Likewise, if someone give me a linked list of pages that need downgrading/unprotecting, I'll copy it to a sandbox and gladly run a batch unprotection. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 03:26, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There is a discussion at ANI, so I'll continue there. For the record, I applaud your concern for wikipedia's protection; I think this may have been overkill, though. Thanks. -- Avi (talk) 04:10, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Lock down on templates

Hello, I am the creator and a primary maintainer of about a dozen major templates you just locked to admin edit only. Since you made these changes, I cannot touch these templates without requesting permission from an admin, which is really inconvenient. Could you please change following templates permissions to semi-perm instead of full:

Thank you, --Jeremy (blah blahI did it!) 04:57, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

(Non-administrator comment)(talk page stalker): It is 6:39am where HJ is, so he is probably asleep. If this isn't something that needs to be done tonight, I recommend leaving it for when he wakes up in a couple hours. If you do need to edit some of these templates, please ask an admin that is online at this presently online. - NeutralhomerTalk05:41, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
(talk page stalker)  Done Hi Jeremy. Three of these were already set by HJ to semi, another had since be reduced to semi by another admin. I've changed the protection-level for the remainder to semi. Let me know if there are any I've missed. (HJ, the usual "I won't consider it wheel-warring if you..." disclaimer applies. I've not looked at vandalism levels etc here). Template protection

Location map templates

You've protected them (sysop only) and now I can't add interwikis since I'm not an administrator in enwiki. The trustfull members of the german map creating team now can't change the maps to better quality ones. I suggest to change the protection to autoconfirmed. Me and many of the mapmakers have the templates in our watchlists so that possible vandalism will be detected very fast. --Obersachse (talk) 07:15, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

PS. As far as I know, the location map templates were never vandalised yet.
There's one that I know of: Template:Location map Iran. User:Obersachsebot then made two bad edits before I fixed up the template again. --Redrose64 (talk) 15:07, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure if this one actually falls under the current issue: HJ move protected it: it was already semi-protected. TFOWR 15:10, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please add the relief map from the german Wikipedia. I can't do this trivial edit because you protected the template. --Obersachse (talk) 09:25, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Reduced to semi. TFOWR 10:41, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, you've put protection on this template, but there are faults with it that are stopping logos from being show and numerous non-free logo images are being marked for deletion as orphaned. Crazy-dancing (talk) 10:06, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Crazy-dancing, I've reduced the protection level to semi. Are you able to fix the issue now? I can take a look if you're not, or (more likely) punt it to someone with a higher level of technical clue than me (that's basically everyone...) TFOWR 10:38, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please add the relief map from the german Wikipedia. I can't do this trivial edit because you protected tis (never vandalised) template. --Obersachse (talk) 10:06, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Semi'd. TFOWR 10:42, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please add the relief map from the german Wikipedia. I can't do this trivial edit because you protected the template. This protection is unneeded. Your thoughtless protection of templates, that were never vandalised is a big handicap in improving Wikipedia. --Obersachse (talk) 10:17, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Semi'd. TFOWR 10:43, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"Highly visible templates or templates in use on many pages are usually protected. Protection may be semi-protection or full protection, based on the degree of visibility, type of use, content, and other factors."

And, on a personal note, can we drop the bad faith assumption and the pointy new headings for each and every template HJ's protected? TFOWR 10:22, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

And if you'd like to drop the bad attitude. I put my note on here, because when a persons actions causes inconvenience or in my case, prevents you making corrections to a template that is not working properly, it's a reasonable that you would turn to the person responsible. I think you are the person assuming bad faith here, so perhaps you should think twice before making your own pointy comments. Crazy-dancing (talk) 10:37, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies for that, my comment was directed at the " Your thoughtless protection of templates"-type of comment, not yours. I'm working through these requests in order of good-faith-ness [sic], and have actioned your request already (above). TFOWR 10:40, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the explanation! Although can't actually work out why the template in question isn't working properly. Could you take a look? I reverted changes to how it was before images stopped showing, but it's still not working properly. Crazy-dancing (talk) 10:47, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I think it was thoughtless (not bad faith). Protections by bot, not proofing individual every template, do not look as if they were the result of profound reflections. Thanks to TFOWR for reprotecting. --Obersachse (talk) 11:12, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No worries, and apologies for the snarky comment. Let me know if there are other templates affected, and I'll drop the prot level to semi for you. TFOWR 11:14, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hmmm

I have an idea, we should start a trivia competition, Courcelles, Casliber and a lot of other users have a head full of trivia and it'd be a shame if we didn't learn more from them. What do you think HJ, I'll be going to sleep now... got to present an assignment tomorrow and I have band early in the morning (I hate 3rd year high school!) Sup HJ,

You recently Super-Highly Protected this template. I assume due to server load per WP:HRT? Anyways, there is a current discussion going on the talk page for further improvements. So can I suggest you provide a little more explanation on why its being protected and how to continue to improve upon the template since protection is now in place, on the talk page? Gracias amigo. QuAzGaA 15:32, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Reduced to semi. My apologies for the inconvenience. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 15:34, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure if the same issues apply but I thought I'd bring this to your attention considering you protected Terry Jones (pastor) citing BLP and Coatrack issues. I've redirected it for now. -- œ 19:54, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It is him. I've filed dozens of SPI's and every single one was him. I requested a rangeblock but they said it would too many IP's would be affected and considered it too drastic of a measure. By the way this is the same matter, albeit different article, that got him blocked indefinitely in the first place. [5][6] -- ◅PRODUCER (TALK) 22:00, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The Croats of Bosnia and Herzegovina article may be next. Just a heads up. -- ◅PRODUCER (TALK) 22:08, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
To be perfectly honest, I'm not looking to get involved in this area. Much like climate change and Israel/Palestine, I tend to avoid it wherever possible, but I'll fulfil protection requests as and when they arise. If only people could just edit harmoniously!
