The result of the move request was: Not moved. The status quo TWODABS primary redirect will remain in place. — Amakuru (talk) 11:36, 4 February 2022 (UTC)
Exit Sign (song) → Exit Sign – "Exit sign" refers to the depiction of a nearby exit, whilst "Exit Sign" in title case more commonly refers to the Hilltop Hoods song, with the redirect only being created around the time the latter was released. Sean Stephens (talk) 06:46, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
- This is a contested technical request (permalink). Vaticidalprophet 01:01, 28 January 2022 (UTC)
- Not obviously uncontroversial; should be discussed. — BarrelProof (talk) 09:50, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
- An Exit Sign is an exit sign. An obscure popular song named the same should stay at Exit Sign (song). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 11:45, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
- Seeing as the community was universally opposed when you suggested moving Drivers License (song) to Drivers License, I'm surprised to see that you'd think this is uncontroversial. Especially when this song is much more obscure. 162 etc. (talk) 15:12, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
- They weren't universally opposed, and the vast majority of them misunderstood the goal of the move ("Drivers License", without the apostrophe and original spelling, is far different to the usage of "Driver's licence"). But thanks for the inclusion of an ad hominem fallacy, I guess, as that isn't relevant to this move. And obscure? It was a top 20 single in Australia, hardly grounds for obscurity. Sean Stephens (talk) 11:27, 31 January 2022 (UTC)
Ping interested parties now the request has moved to discussion: Sean Stephens BarrelProof Anthony Appleyard 162 etc. Vaticidalprophet 01:01, 28 January 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose change. "(song)" makes it clear that it is not an "Exit sign" when it appears in drop down pick pick lists, etc., especially to readers who may not "know" the MOS for titles. A very belated signing: Aoziwe (talk) 09:03, 4 February 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose. Hilltop Hoods who? Seriously though, most people looking at this would not think the target is the song and not the actual sign. Gonnym (talk) 16:26, 28 January 2022 (UTC)
- Disambiguate the general concept gets 1,847 views compared with only 100[[1]] for the song so its probably safest to disambiguate. Crouch, Swale (talk) 17:30, 28 January 2022 (UTC)
- Comment: I apologise for not taking this through RM initially—I did think it to be uncontroversial, as small details are enough to distinguish the two. I can list plenty of similar examples to these two, all of which are solved by a hatnote from the primary topic to the other page (one being White pepper vs White Pepper). Sean Stephens (talk) 11:27, 31 January 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose. Capitalisation is not sufficient to distinguish this obscure song from the very clearly primary Exit sign. -- Necrothesp (talk) 16:08, 2 February 2022 (UTC)
