COUNTERINDICATIONS + Heart areas + Eyes or mouth + Abdominal area (for pregnant women) + Pacemaker (in arecordial area) + Infectious processes + Neoplastic processes * Active bleeding + Vascular disorcers + Recent fractures. To avoid unwanted movement, recent historrhexis if they are placed with motor effect. + Be careful when applying around the chest, since the “isk of fibrillation may increase. + Be careful with its placement on nerves directly related to organic functions, as the phrenic or sphincter. + Do not place near a diathermy device (short wave, microwave); electromagnetic waves alter the application parameters. + Do not handle the device with sharp objects as pens or pointers, since they can damage the device and select a parameter or value incorrectly. USER MANUAL, @ This product offers two types of waves to electrostimulate muscle groups: Square Waves and Russian Waves. These types of waves are different in their setting and ae designed to obtain a deep muscular contraction with high fiber recruitment, but they work very differently, Russian Waves, also called Kots, are the typical excitomotor currents, extremely known for their proven effectiveness. They offer long contraction periods, keeping muscular tension during relatively long periods (Several seconds). The muscle works as were lifting weights, rowing, or similar activities. The new Square Waves, whose most common name is SBR (symmetric biphasic rectangular current), have an amazing contracting effect without any unpleasant feeling and work very differently from the Russian Waves. The contractions ere short and very intense, similar to the ones produced when running, riding a bike or playing tennis. SQUARE WAVES RUSSIAN WAVES That is why it is advised to use a combination of both waveforms successively in the treatments, in order to achieve a complete and functional muscle exercise, obtaining the spectacular results observed when using JAZZ. T.E.N.S. WAVES T.ENN.S. Waves are specifically indicated for pain treatments. Their therapeutic action has been widely proven for many years now. The biochemical and physiological action involved in these treatments is highly efficient and it does not have any special counterindication. It is advised for cases of muscular pain, back pain, contractures, and sprains and sport strokes, among others. Pm ELECTRODES ELECTRODES’ LIFE SPAN The electrodes that come with your device are made of biocompatible conductive silicone rubber and have a limited time span. That is why it is necessary to pay attention to their application: please do not use oily or perfumed gels, since they could shorten their life span. Always make sure to use attachment gel with a water base or a cloth dampened in water. When the treatment finishes, clean all the electrodes with acloth dampened in water until no gel rasidues are left. Those sensations are usually caused by insufficient gel soreading and/or inadequate electrode fixing, almost causing skin irritation in that spot. The correction of these problems is the immediate solution. * The electrodes must not be placed in the rear side of the neck, since there is the danger of stimulating the carotid sinus and causing a hypotension criss. + Inthe temporal area, it can cause vertigo. WARNINGS * Be very careful with the thrombophlebitic processes, since microthrombi release can be induced in some cases by the effects of muscular contraction near the focus and in other cases, by provoking reflex vascular motricity. Do not apply in the first trimester of pregnancy. If it were necessary, place it in areas far away from the fetus. Good contact between the electrode and the skin has to be guaranteed. Otherwise, the current is concentrated in a spot and the stimulation feels unpleasant. This device does not have any parts that can be fixed by the user, so it is. recommended not to open the unit. If repairs or adjustrrents are needed, they must be done in the factory or by technicians authorized by CorMedic S.A. The electrodes supplied with the device guarantee that the maximum output intensity will not exceed the 2 mArms/cm2 density limit imposed by the international norms (IEC 60601-2410- 2000). USER MANUAL @ WARNINGS = The use of any electrodes other than the ones supplied may result in the exceeding of said limit, so the therapist should pay particular attention to the patient. = Patients with implanted electronic devices (as a pacemaker) should only be treated after sonsulting with a specialist doctor, = The simultaneous connection of the patient to the stimulator and to a radio frequency surgery device may result in burns where the electrodes are placed and in damage to the stimulator. Hand ing the device less than 1 meter awey from a short wave or microwave therapy device may cause instability in the output wave form and in the functioning indicators. * This unit is not suitable to be used in atmospheres with the presence of flammable anesthetic mixtures with air, oxygen or nitrous acid. USER MANUAL @ @o Clean the casing with a cloth dampened on water to remove dust and/or other atmospheric agents. Take into account that this, device is NOT suitable for use in the presence of explosives atmospheres or flammable anesthetic mixtures with air, oxygen or ritrous acid. Do not use corrosive or oily cleaning products, such as turpentine, thinner or similar ones. Take into account that the electrodes are usable and have a determined life span. To completely take advantage of such electrodes, it is recommended: * To completely clean the electrodes with alcohol to eliminate any remainder of the used gel, lotion, etc. once a therapy session is finished and before another one starts. SU CUE ons una cae CARE & CLEANING = To put them away clean and dry when they are not going to be used. * To always use hydrogel (water-based conductive gel) to improve conduction, = To use a clotr dampened regular water, salted water or physiological solution between electrode and patient as an alternative to the previous point. Do not use distilled water, since it is a weak electricity conductor. = Take into account that excessively oily skin, certain lotions or beauty muds, etc. may weaken the electrical conductivity. Therefore, the skin area where electrodes are to be applied must be clean. USER MANUAL, eo Qe Which type of waveform is better, Russian or Square Waves? They both generate amazing results; in fact, itis recommendad to use the same program with both types. It can be done successively on the same day or alternately every day and a half. Can the device be used with both waves simultaneously? They are the waves used in treatments for muscular pains, contractures, sprains, etc. They do not have any particular counterindications, besides the regular ones. What are the T.E.N.S. waves? It depends cn many factors, such as the muscie's general state and adiposity, among others. If possible, intensity should be increased until the contraction is visible. e FAQ How can | improve the stimulation? Always use a neutral gel or a dampened clott between the electrode and the skin. Move the electrodes slightly until the best effect is achieved. The muscle does not contract but the stimulation can be felt. Why is that? This is generally the case for people that hav2 never used stimulation, The application must be continued, because the feeling goes away shortly after and, by increasing the intensity, the muscle contracts. Should muscular contraction be easily seen? It depends on rrany factors, such as the muscle's general state and adiposity, among others. If possible, intensty should be increased until the contractior visible. USER MANUAL 6 FAQ How frequent should the sessions be? There is no limit, but the muscles should not te excessively tired. e Does electrostimulation replace physical exercise or diet? It does not replace them; it complements and improves them by acting on the muscle groups. Qe How can I gat more information?
