Although originally only used in commercial settings, epoxy flooring is becoming more and more popular in homes across Australia. As a general rule, flooring costs for epoxy are around $30-$35 per square metre for two coats over a prepared concrete surface. The price can go up to $80-$100 per square metre when you pay for diamond grinding to prepare the concrete and a decorative finish like flakes. 

When looking at prices some epoxy flooring will be shown as a cost per litre: 

• Solvent-based - $12 - $37 per litre 
• Water-based - $15 - $20 per litre
• Colour tint - $75 per litre

Others will come in prices per metre squared:

• Epoxy flake flooring   -   $40 - $60 per m2
• Metallic flake  -  $60 - $120 per m2
• Acrylic flake  -  $60 - $90 per m2 

Most professionals quote based on how much it will cost to apply epoxy based on the size of the space, but there may be other jobs that require consideration. If extensive prep work is needed, the actual price will be higher. 

In most cases, you will get a better rate for a larger surface because of the set-up and preparation time involved. In most garage jobs, you’ll have to pay for a diamond grind to smooth the surface as well as two coats of epoxy. Epoxy garage floor costs can be:
