Tujuan Pembelajaran Disajikan beberapa text recount tulis, siswa mampu menentukan runutan
kejadian dalam sebuah teks recount tertulis sangat pendek dan
sederhana, terkait pengalaman pribadi di waktu lampau (personal
recount), dengan memperhatikan fungsi sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur
kebahasaan, secara benar dan sesuai konteks.

RECOUNT TEXT
1. DEFINITION
It is a text which describes how an event happened in the past in a sequence of time.

2. PURPOSE
Its purpose is to tell readers about one’s past experience based on the chronologic order.

3. STRUCTURE
The generic structure of recount text is listed as follows:
o Orientation tells who was involved, what happened, where the events took place, and when it
happened. ("Orientation" menceritakan siapa saja yang terlibat dalam cerita, apa yang terjadi, di
mana tempat peristiwa terjadi, dan kapan terjadi peristiwanya)
o Events tell what happened and in what sequence. ("Event" menceritakan apa yang terjadi (lagi) dan
menceritakan urutan ceritanya)
o Reorientation consists of optional-closure of events/ending. ("Reorientation" berisi penutup cerita /
akhir cerita/kesan/ungkapan perasaan terhadap peristiwa tersebut)

4. LANGUAGE FEATURES of RECOUNT TEXT


o Using the simple past tense, past continuous tense, past perfect tense, and past perfect continuous
tense.
o Using temporal sequence, e.g. On Saturday. On Monday, On Sunday
o Focus on specific participant, e.g. I (the writer)
o Using the conjunctions, such as: then, before, after, etc.
o Using action verb, e.g. went, stayed

G. Langkah-langkah Kegiatan Pembelajaran


PENDAHULUAN (5 menit)
1) Siswa bersiap untuk mengikuti proses pembelajaran dengan memberi salam dan mengawali
kegiatan dengan berdoa.
2) Guru memeriksa kehadiran peserta didik sekaligus bertanya kabar hari ini.
3) Apersepsi:
Guru menunjukkan foto liburannya dan bercerita tentang apa yang dilakukan saat berlibur.

4) Berbasis kegiatan apersepsi yang telah dilakukan, guru menyampaikan cakupan materi, yakni
Recount Text, dan menyampaikan tujuan pembelajaran/kompetensi dasar yang akan dicapai pada
pertemuan kali ini; mampu menentukan runutan cerita dengan tepat.

KEGIATAN INTI (60 menit)


Building Knowledge of the Field (BKOF)
1) Guru menampilkan video tentang ‘My Holiday in Bali’. Selama menonton video, siswa mencatatkan
informasi penting atau kata kunci bersama-sama dengan kelompok belajarnya. Link video bisa di

2) Setelah siswa menonton video dan mencatatkan informasi pada kolom timeline di hand-out, siswa
bersama-sama menjawab pertanyaan terkait terkait infromasi rinci tentang isi video.

Modelling
3) Disajikan teks yang sama isinya dengan video, namun dalam bentuk teks tulis, siswa dipandu untuk
mengidentifikasi teks berdasarkan struktur teks, fungsi sosial, dan unsur kebahasaan dalam teks
recount.

Mengasosiasi (Joint Construction)


4) Guru membentuk kelompok yang beranggotakan 4 orang, dan memahamkan siswa bahwa mereka
akan bekerja dalam kelompok dan salling membantu dan mengajarkan, sehingga masing-masing
anggota perlu bekerjasama dengan baik.
5) Setiap kelompok diberi amplop yang berisikan potongan gambar dan kalimat (story cards). Siswa
bekerja sama untuk menyusun urutan cerita secara utuh dengan memperhatikan sequence of events
yang ada dalam teks.
6) Siswa menempelkan story cards yang telah disusun karton yang telah disediakan.
7) Guru mengecek kerja perkelompok, apakah susunan paragraph sudah benar atau belum. Siswa
menerima feed back kelompok.
8) Bagi kelompok yang sudah selesai menyusun dengan benar, masing-masing siswa membuat 1
pertanyaan yang terkait dengan isi teks pada karton yang sama.
9) Siswa menempelkan karton tersebut yang berisi urutan story cards dan pertanyaan yang telah dibuat
di dinding kelas, kemudian perkelompok akan berkeliling secara bergantian (gallery walk), dan
menjawab pertanyaan secara individu, pada lembar kerja di handout mereka.

PENUTUP (10 menit)


1) Guru memberikan kuis lisan dari beberapa soal yang telah dijawab oleh siswa saat gallery walk.
2) Guru mengajukan pertanyaan kepada peserta didik untuk membantu mereka melakukan refleksi
terhadap kegiatan belajar yang telah mereka lakukan

3) Guru memberikan tugas kepada peserta didik untuk mengerjakan beberapa soal dalam lembar PR
terkait identifikasi informasi rinci dan menentukan runutan kejadian dalam sebuah cerita recount.
4) Guru menyampaikan topik/kegiatan pada pekan selanjutnya, yakni digital storytelling project.

Locked in the Cupboard (Story no 1)

Last Sunday afternoon, a seven-year-old Dullah Dullah went to his bedroom. He looked for his shorts in
