월터 카이저(Walter C. Kaiser Jr. 1933년 4 월 11일 ~ )는 미국의 복음주의 구약 학자, 저술가및 교육자이다. 카이저는 고든 콘웰 신학교의 저명한 구약학자이다. 2006년 6월 30일 은퇴하였고 후임은 제임스 E. 화이트이다.

생애

카이저는 1933년 독일침례교도인 부모님인 월터 크리스챤 카이저와 이스텔 자워스키 카이저 사이에서 펜실베니아 폴크로프트에서 태어났다. 그는 휘튼 칼리지에서 AB 를, 휘튼 대학원에서 BD 를, 브랜다이스 대학교 MA 및 지중해 연구로 Ph.D.를 취득했다. 2006년까지 그는 고든 콘웰 신학교의 학장으로 재직했다. 그 이전에 그는 트리니티 신학교의 총장 및 구약 교수로 20년 이상을 가르쳤다. 1977년 그는 미국 복음주의 신학회 회장으로 봉사했다. 카이저는 구약학자로 문서설을 거부한다.
