Bleed Esports (commonly referred to as Bleed) is a Singaporean esports organization.

On October 4th, 2024 Riot Games announced that Bleed Esports had been removed from the VCT Pacific International League, citing a "failure to comply with critical reporting requirements and other key obligations under the TPA".[1] Bleed responded to this announcement by accepting the decision, and moving its roster to inactive positions as the team re-evalutes its potential future in Challengers.[2]

Biography[edit]

Entering VALORANT[edit]

Bleed entered VALORANT in October 2021, signing the free-agent team of UwU, competing in various Southeast Asian tournaments. [55] Going into 2022, Bleed were looking towards Challengers Malaysia & Singapore (MY & SG) as their path into the VCT ecosystem and seized the opportunity to do so, qualifying via the 2022 Open Qualifier to enter Stage 1 of Challengers MY & SG. Here, the team secured a second-place finish to advance to the APAC Stage 1 Challengers, where Bleed fell at the final hurdle, losing in overtime to XERXIA resulting in Bleed missing out on Maters Reykjavík. This happened again in Stage 2, where Bleed once again fell to XERXIA in overtime, this time in the Lower-Bracket quarterfinals. Bleed's final hope for the year was the APAC Last Chance Qualifier, qualifying a single team to Champions 2022, here Bleed made it all the way to the Lower Bracket Final, however, fate seemed against Bleed, as they repeated their previous results, falling to ONIC Esports in overtime.

Second Year in Challengers and Ascending[edit]

Heading into 2023, Bleed made dramatic changes to their roster, with Derrick "Deryeon" Yee being the only player retained from their 2022 season. [56] Alongside Deryeon, Bleed signed Ngô "crazyguy" Công Anh, Natchaphon "sScary" Matarat, Wong "JayH" Heng to their Challengers MY & SG team, with the final addition the team, Tyler "juicy" Aeria, being promoted from Bleed's Academy roster where he had competed the previous year. [57] Bleed hit the ground running in 2023, dominating both Split 1 and Split 2 of Challengers MY & SG 2023, qualifying the team for their most important tournament of the year, VCT Ascension Pacific. At Ascension, Bleed topped their group, securing the first seed for Playoffs, where they went on to defeat BOOM Esports 2-1 and in the Grand Finals Bleed took the series 3-0 against SCARZ. This victory saw Bleed Esports promoted to the VCT International Leagues for both 2024 and 2025.

Joining VCT Pacific[edit]

Winning Ascension meant the team had fulfilled their year-long goal, but it also meant that changes had to be made, as juicy was too young to compete in the International Leagues, which has a minimum age requirement of 18, as well as Tan "nephh" Marcus (who had joined the team after Split 1) having to leave to complete his Singaporean National Service. [58] These changes opened the team up to new opportunities, where they signed Javier "Egoist" Chua, and Jaccob "yay" Whiteaker, who was one of the most sought-after players in the 2023 Off-Season. [59]

Bleed entered their first International League tournament, Kickoff, with high expectations, especially for the return of yay to the International Leagues. However, Bleed's year started poorly, falling out of Kickoff without winning a single map. After this result, Bleed saw Egoist retire to focus on University, and benched crazyguy; adding Kim "Zest" Gi-seok and Jorell "Retla" Teo to round out their roster ahead of Stage 1. These changes did little to alter the outcome, with Bleed ending Stage 1 at the bottom of their group, once again falling short of expectations and failing to qualify for Playoffs. Stage 2 was Bleed's final chance to qualify for an international event in 2024, however between stages yay benched himself, citing health issues. [60] This change saw crazyguy return to the active roster, but this change was not enough as Bleed once again fell short in Stage 2, failing to win a series across the entire Stage. Bleed's season ended with only one series win after a year of roster changes and inconsistency.

Removed From VCT Pacific[edit]

Following the 2024 season, Bleed began their process of rebuilding, listing four of their players as restricted agents, only sScary was retained. [61] On October 4th, 2024 Riot Games announced that Bleed Esports had been removed from the VCT Pacific International League, citing a "failure to comply with critical reporting requirements and other key obligations under the TPA". [1] Bleed responded to this announcement by accepting the decision, and moving its roster to inactive positions as the team re-evalutes its potential future in Challengers. [2]
