New Design Revealed for 2 World Trade Center in Financial District, Manhattan

A new redesign has been revealed for 2 World Trade Center, the final supertall component of the 16-acre World Trade Center complex in Manhattan’s Financial District. Designed by Norman Foster of Foster + Partners and developed by Silverstein Properties, the skyscraper is now slated to stand 62 stories and 1,230 feet tall, down from the 80-story, 1,348-foot-tall scope of the previous iteration. The building will yield 2.8 million square feet of office space and rise from a full-block property bounded by Vesey Street to the north, Fulton Street to the south, Church Street to the east, and Greenwich Street to the west.

Construction Underway at 22 Skillman Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn

Foundations are underway at 22 Skillman Street, the site of an eight-story residential building in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Designed by Daniel Condatore of Mode Architects and developed by Zelig Weiss of Riverside Developers USA, the 70-foot-tall structure will span 115,580 square feet and yield 83 condominium units with an average scope of 1,392 square feet. The development will also include a cellar level and 42 enclosed parking spaces. The through-lot property is located between Skillman Street to the east and Franklin Avenue to the west.

1448 Third Avenue Reaches Street Level on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Construction is about to go vertical at 1448 Third Avenue, the site of a 39-story mixed-use tower in the Yorkville section of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by CetraRuddy Architecture and developed by Douglaston Development, the 478-foot-tall structure will span 287,632 square feet and yield 125 condominium units with an average scope of 1,804 square feet. The building will also contain 40,864 square feet of commercial space, 21,224 square feet of community facility space, a cellar level, and a 20-foot-long rear yard. The property is alternately addressed as 170 East 82nd Street and located at the corner of Third Avenue and East 82nd Street.

Linden Grove Senior Residences Wraps Up Construction at 223 Linden Street in Bushwick, Brooklyn

Construction is wrapping up on the Linden Grove Senior Residences, a 13-story modular residential building at 223 Linden Street in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Designed and developed in a collaboration between Blue Sea Development Company and Gilbane Development Company, the structure yields 153 affordable units in studio- to one-bedroom layouts for qualifying low-income and formerly homeless senior citizens. The property is situated near the corner of Linden Street and Wilson Avenue.
