The Scythe of Vitur is a two-handed slash weapon requiring 80 Attack and 90 Strength to wield, available as a rare drop from the Theatre of Blood. The scythe is extremely valuable due to its immense power against most large monsters.
Although the Scythe of Vitur has a stab bonus, it does not have a Stab combat style.

Passive effect[edit | edit source]
When the player attacks with a scythe, their attack range is increased to a 1x3 arc radius in front of the player, which can allow them to hit three 1x1 targets in front of them. These attacks' accuracy and strength rolls are rolled independently on each target, though each hit will deal 50% less damage than the preceding hit; e.g if a player has a max hit of 50 with the scythe, the second hit is capped at 25 and the third at 12.
When attacking a large creature (a monster that occupies more than two game squares), the scythe will instead apply as many hits as possible to them. A 2x2 monster (such as Vardorvis) will be hit twice per attack, while a larger monster (such as dragons and Duke Sucellus) will be hit three times per attack. As with before, these hits' accuracy and strength are rolled independently against the target's defence.
Despite the reduced damage from the second and third hits, the scythe is still immensely powerful against large creatures, especially if they are weak to slash or have low Defence levels.
Charging and degradation[edit | edit source]
The scythe may be charged to drastically increase its stats. In order to charge it, players must add at least one vial of blood and a set of 200 blood runes to the vyre well next to the bank in Ver Sinhaza. Additionally, once Sins of the Father quest is completed, there is a vyre well outside the bank in Darkmeyer.
Each vial and 200 blood runes adds 100 charges to the scythe, with it being able to hold up to 20,000 charges (costing 623.1 coins per attack, and a total of 12,462,000 to fully charge it with 40,000 blood runes and 200 vials of blood). One charge is deducted per attack, as long as one of the hits deals damage. The hourly rate of using the scythe is 747,720 coins. The fully charged scythe will last for 16.66 hours of continuous combat before reverting to its uncharged form.
Once the charges are added to the scythe, they can be returned by using the scythe on the vyre wells in Ver Sinhaza should players decide to uncharge the scythe. Charges left will be rounded down at 100 hits per charge; for example, with 1,275 hits remaining, 1,200 charges will be deposited. These charges may then be withdrawn from the well to receive the blood runes and vials of blood back. Uncharging outside the well, however, will not return blood runes or vials of blood.
In the event of a PvP death, if the scythe is not protected, all charges will be lost and the person who gets the scythe will not receive any blood runes or vials of blood.
Ornament kit[edit | edit source]
The Scythe of Vitur can be combined with a holy ornament kit to make a holy Scythe of Vitur. Alternatively, the Scythe of Vitur can be combined with a Sanguine ornament kit to make a Sanguine Scythe of Vitur. These cosmetic enhancements do not change the stats in any way, but the holy ornament kit does make the scythe count as a Saradomin item in the God Wars Dungeon.
