Alan is the court reporter for the Seers' Village Courthouse during the King's Ransom quest and the Court Cases Distraction and Diversion.
He is an elderly wizard whose job is presumably to record the minutes of the court case, but he has a magic paper and quill to make notes for him. He sleeps throughout the proceedings, and Z's emanate from him to imply snoring.
It is not possible to interact with him in any way other than examine.
