The black pearl is a reward from the dead man's chest in the Ashdale Caves after fighting Agoroth. Unlike the quest reward pearls, these pearls give experience equal to that of a medium fallen star. Agoroth can be fought once per week for free players or twice per week for members. Even though obtaining black pearls is only possible at most twice per week, there are no time limitations for cracking them.

Although the pearls grant bonus experience to any player, only members can use bonus experience.

Black pearls earned after the quest are not bankable. In addition, black pearls earned after the quest may be used alongside other black pearls earned before the quest for additional bonus experience. After the quest, players may select coins instead of black pearls as a reward for defeating Agoroth.
