Mithril ore is an ore that can be obtained through mining mithril rocks, requiring level 30 Mining, in various places around RuneScape.
Mithril is required to craft mithril bars. As players increase their Mining level and use higher tier pickaxes, they are able to mine mithril at quicker rates.
Mithril, like other mining resources, can be stored in an ore box. 100 mithril can be stored in a mithril ore box or higher. This capacity can be increased by 20 at level 37 Mining, a further 20 with the completion of the Everything Is Oresome achievement, and a further 10 with the completion of the Everything Is Still Oresome achievement.
Varrock South-West mine is quite close to a bank as well for those without the level requirement for the resource dungeon. However, this bank (May's Quest Caravan, members only) does require the bank chest to be unlocked via the Hub track for a cumulative cost of 125 quest points.
When RuneScape was first released, smelting mithril bars required level 55 Smithing. Smithing requirements were later rebalanced, with mithril bars requiring level 50 Smithing instead. With the release of the Mining and Smithing rework, only level 30 is now required.
