Sonakshi Sinha Fires Back At Mukesh Khanna Over 'Father’s Fault' Remark

Taking to Instagram stories, Sonakshi wrote, "I recently read a statement you made saying that it’s my father’s fault I did not answer a question about the Ramayana correctly on a show I attended many, many years back. Firstly let me remind you there were two women on the hot seat that day who did not know the answer to the same question, but you choose to keep taking my name, and only my name, for reasons which are quite obvious.”

Acknowledging her mistake on the show, the actress mentioned she blanked out, which was nothing more than a minor human error. She further highlighted how forgiveness is a lesson taught by Lord Ram which the actor has forgotten. She added, "Yes I may have blanked out that day, a human tendency, and forgotten who the sanjeevani booti was brought for, but clearly you have also forgotten some of the lessons of forgive and forget taught by lord Ram himself.. If lord Ram can forgive Manthara, if he can forgive Kaikeyi..if he can even forgive Ravan after the great battle was done, surely you can let go of this extremely small thing in comparison.. not that I need your forgiveness.”

Mukesh Khanna clarifies after getting criticised for his #MeToo remark

Sonakshi further warned Khanna, urging him to stop bringing up the incident for attention, saying, "I definitely need you to forget and stop bringing up the same incident time and again to be back in the news at the expense of me and my family. And lastly, the next time you decide to say anything about the values my father has instilled in me..pleaşe remember it’s because of those values that I have only said what I said, very respectfully, after you decided to make some distasteful statements about my upbringing.”

Khanna, in an earlier interview, commented on Sonakshi’s error, saying, "This happened despite her being Shatrughan Sinha’s daughter. Her brothers are named Luv and Kush. Why didn’t they teach her this? Why did they become so modern?"

The incident on Kaun Banega Crorepati had sparked criticism, but Sonakshi had clarified then that her cautiousness stemmed from wanting to win the prize money for her contestant.
Meanwhile, Khanna was in the news recently when he gave 'Pushpa' star Allu Arjun his stamp of approval to play the iconic Indian superhero. In a YouTube video, he discussed why Arjun was the perfect fit to play Shaktimaan.
“I am not committing to anything, but I think he (Arjun) can be Shaktimaan. He has good looks and height, but they (Pushpa makers) have turned him into a villain. But he would suit the role of Shaktimaan.”
Sharing his thoughts about why the film may have clicked with the audience, he said, “It won’t be achieved by just throwing around money, you can see how hard they worked to make it. I will only praise Pushpa 2 from the first frame; every frame speaks of how they did well. When you have conviction in yourself, you convince the audience itself. Forget the logic, it’s mindblowing.”
However, he had a complaint, “They have glamourised smuggling sandalwood. What is the message you want to give? Do you want to show people they can smuggle and even beat the police? I want to tell filmmakers from the south not to make such films just to score a hit.”
