Hi, I shortned the description on The Comprehensive Dictionary of the Contemporary Ukrainian Language (Q12088362) to make it compliant with WD:D. The earlier description read more like marketing copy. Descriptions should ideally be a short and simple explanation of what something is. Settlement site

Hi. I don't understand your explanation the other archaeological sites than settlements are fossils, — fossil flora-fauna. My question what other sites than archeological sites are described as settlement sites? was about other uses of English phrase "settlement site", not about types of archaeological sites.

Per Google search there are some uses of "archaeological settlement site", but just "settlement site" in the same sense is still way more common, hence the latter was preferred as item label.

Additionally, for an unknown reason, you restored erroneous French Vikidia ID that matches entirely different item, and also erroneous claim said to be the same as (P460): Stone Age settlement site (Q4443227). Your changes to this item still make very little sense, if any. The only part of your reversion that might be worth preserving is English alias "archaeological settlement site". Though, likely it isn't a real syonoym either, but rather just term "settlement site" being used with an adjective, comparable to "big settlement site" or "dusty settlement site". I haven't found where in English-language special literature this was presented specifically as a synonym. As for other aliases that you provide: 1) "site of archaeological settlement" probably isn't used really, term doesn't exist in the internet, and 2) "settlement (archaeological site)" has parenthesis in it, so most likely not a synonym either.

To be clear, settlement site (Q1708422) isn't strictly about Stone Age settlement site. uk:Стоянка (археологія) may not be striclty about Stone Age settlement site either as it is described as Mesolithic and Paleolithic (parts of Stone Age), and so it may be even more strict than Stone Age settlement. However, quite clearly "Стоянка" is much closer to "Stone Age settlement" than it is to generic "settlement site" (not restricted to any era). Neither do your "said to be the same as" statements make any sense. Clearly, Stone Age settlement site (Q4443227) is only about settlement sites of Stone Age, it isn't about, say, Medieval or Broze Age settlement sites that settlement site (Q1708422) covers. So how comes they are the same?

Why for the second time you restore French Vikidia ID " Éphèse? This is Ephesus (Q47611), a particular settlement site, not the class (Q1708422).

If you are capable of explaining yourself, then please use discussion page instead of edit summaries.
