Merging items

[edit]

Hallo Millars,

If you were not already using it, you may want to check out the merge.js gadget for merging items. It has an option "Request deletion for extra items on RfD" to automatically nominate the page you are merging from for deletion. This way of nominating also makes it easier for the admins to process such requests. For support and other options you can check the help page about merging.

Note that it is no longer use to delete items that are merged, but redirect instead. You can use merge.js to establish that. Lymantria (talk) 06:41, 3 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You can also subscribe to the list (if you're not already) for further updates and conversation between participants. Good luck and happy translating! Sincerely, Wittylama (talk) 14:17, 28 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

EAHC - possible missmatch in Spanish Section

[edit]

Hello, I noticed, that in Spanish Section is listed Q813323 (Commentary on the Apocalypse by Beatus), but it seems rather, that in Europeana 280 is acctualy listed one spcecific exemplar of Beatus.[1] It could be Q23935016 (Valcavado Beatus). Can You inspect it? --marv1N (talk) 09:03, 29 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your excellent sleuthing work marv1N. I have now updated the several pages that power the Art History Challenge - e.g. on the Spain project page and the Bot config file. This does, unfortunately, lower the number of wikipedia articles that exist already about the artworks in the project, but on the other side it also increases the number of potential items to create/translate. Pinging also Kippelboy. Wittylama (talk) 20:20, 1 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Number is lower, but numbers were increased by identifying Q510799 as one of the maltese painting. Statisticaly speaking, we are in plus numbers :-). --marv1N (talk) 12:28, 2 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Language "no"

[edit]

Hi, the language code "no" is not supported (anymore), it's not a Norwegian language and it should be removed. Stryn (talk) 11:07, 12 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Call for participation in a task-based online experiment

[edit]

Dear Millars,

I hope you are doing good,

I am Kholoud, a researcher at King's College London, and I work on a project as part of my PhD research, in which I have developed a personalised recommender system that suggests Wikidata items for the editors based on their past edits. I am collaborating on this project with Elena Simperl and Miaojing Shi.

I am inviting you to a task-based study that will ask you to provide your judgments about the relevance of the items suggested by our system based on your previous edits. Participation is completely voluntary, and your cooperation will enable us to evaluate the accuracy of the recommender system in suggesting relevant items to you. We will analyse the results anonymised, and they will be published to a research venue.

The study will start in late January 2022 or early February 2022, and it should take no more than 30 minutes.

If you agree to participate in this study, please either contact me at kholoud.alghamdi@kcl.ac.uk or use this form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSees9WzFXR0Vl3mHLkZCaByeFHRrBy51kBca53euq9nt3XWog/viewform?usp=sf_link I will contact you with the link to start the study.

For more information about the study, please read this post: https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/User:Kholoudsaa In case you have further questions or require more information, don't hesitate to contact me through my mentioned email.

Thank you for considering taking part in this research.

Regards

Kholoudsaa (talk) 20:20, 5 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
