One North Texas school district no stranger to controversy now finds itself under further scrutiny by the U.S. Department of Education.
The department's Office of Civil Rights has launched three additional investigations into the Carroll ISD in Southlake, bringing the total number of active investigations to eight.
They include three allegations each of race and sex discrimination, and two allegations related to special education.
The specifics of the alleged wrongdoing are unclear.
The new allegations come after the Carroll school board voted to remove "religion," "sexual orientation" and "gender" from its non-discrimination statement in December.
The Carroll ISD has not yet responded to KRLD's request for comment.
