    There was unrest so not great to move around at night (or day in some parts). Where I was staying it felt very safe and the area is nice. Further out towards the airport it is not great... But there is a lovely energy to the place and looking forward to my next trip back.

    Wonderful city...especially the sea-side though hot and humid temperatures can be uncomfortable. Love cycling early morning on Saturdays to Marracuene and back with less traffic congestion.Brisk walking along beach.Superb restuarant at Costa da Sol.

    The beach in Maputo is a little dirty water and not for activities. If one wants the beach activities the place is Bilene. Rather book an accommodation there although it takes 3 hours from Maputo because of speed limit that goes as low as 40km/h and mostly 60km/h.

    If you're driving a South African registration vehicle you must bare in mind that u will be stopped everywhere there's police wanting cold drink hence all your documents are in order. You need to be nice to them

    It is a great city, but it will take me a while to come back...

    It is a great city, but it will take me a while to come back here. Nothing struck me as welcoming or as a real taste of Mozambique. The beach doesn't seem maintained or safe. Only 2 things I loved, the Radisson Blu Hotel and the South Beach Restaurant & Bar, those were my highlights. I found the country pricey as well.

    - For most part of downtown and the beach, Maputo is a nice city. Its streets and avenues are full of trees and sidewalks, te later not often found in African countries. - The cost of life has increased a lot since my last visit (2019). Drivers are among the worst from the big cities.

    The room and bathroom were clean and had a stylish design, especially the lighting was nice. The shower was constantly hot and the bed comfortable. The staff is very kind. If you need to stay in the city centre then the location is good, although the coastal areas of Maputo are better. Overall good value for money. It should be noted that the hotel has two names, either Villa or Jardim das Acácias

    The staff were really friendly and professional. The hotel is centrally situated, so going out to explore Maputo is easy. The breakfasts were wonderful with slight changes in the menu every day. Dinner was also pleasant. There is safe parking in the basement with a lift up into the hotel. Vehicle safety is important in Maputo. We enjoyed our stay.

    Very kind and helpful receptionists, tasty breakfast, good location, clean room and refreshing pool made my 2 nights stay in Maputo very comfortable. It was my second time to stay in Guesthouse 1109 and if I need accommodation in Maputo again, I will definitely choose Guesthouse 1109.

    Casa Quimera is a small and cozy guest house/hotel in a central part of Maputo. The owner is very positive and serviceminded. The breakfast is served by the small pool in the backyard - a few tables in the shade.
