During a peaceful protest in support of the Black Lives Matter movement and in response to the murder of George Floyd, an innocent black man, Claremont High School Spanish teacher, Aaron Burke was spotted flipping off his own students and Claremont families who were protesting.

At least four witnesses have come forward and made videos responding to Burke's actions. Burke is a teacher within our community that has power over how Claremont High School students are educated and treated. Through his actions, Burke has shown that his political biases influence the way he treats his students and the members of our community. 

This petition is written in response to this specific action but may include accounts (below) of any other harmful, discriminatory, or prejudiced actions Aaron Burke has committed against the students of Claremont High School. We are writing to ask that action be taken and that the issue with Mr. Burke is promptly dealt with via the termination of his position at Claremont High School. CHS should maintain a safe community and environment for its students. CHS students should not live under the fear that their beliefs or identities could result in retaliation from faculty.
