Review: Chobani Simply 100 Crunch Blueberry Cookie Crumble Greek Yogurt

Another day, another Chobani product.  Well, maybe it just feels that way since I bought several all in the same shopping trip.  Anyway, today's review is of a new product that I picked up for $1.25 at my local Kroger.  This Chobani Simply 100 Crunch Blueberry Cookie Crumble Greek Yogurt clocks in at a diminutive 4.2 ounces and packs in 100 calories with ten grams of protein.  It's also all natural, kosher and vegan.  Pretty brief intro today, but's all I've got to say for now since I can't come up with anything particularly creative.  Call it Chobani fatigue.

Review: Good2Go Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Protein Bars

Some time back, I received several boxes of Good2Go bars as free samples for reviews.  I've hurriedly looked at a couple of flavors in prior reviews, but I've put aside the remaining two flavors for a while as I addressed other products.  Well, I'm back and now it's time to knock out these remaining two flavors of free samples.  So, here we are with this box of eight Good2Go Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Protein Bars.  Each bar in the box is 2.47 ounces and has 298 calories with eighteen grams of protein, so there's definitely some girth here.  It's also gluten fee, so it does have that going for it if that is something that you are looking for.

Review: Love Grown Foods Strawberry Raspberry Hot Oats

People do a lot of things in life in the name of love.  Make sacrifices, do nice things, etc.  Well, apparently there's a group of people out there that like to grow food in the name of love (apparently oats are quite the loving food) and because of that, led to another Love Grown Foods review as I take a look at this cup of Love Grown Foods Strawberry Raspberry Hot Oats.  I was able to pick it up at Kroger for around $1.50 (can't remember the exact price) and each container of gluten free Love Grown Foods Strawberry Raspberry Hot Oats comes in at 2.22 ounces and has 230 calories and seven grams of protein.

Review: thinkThin Dark Chocolate Peppermint Protein & Fiber Bar

The holidays bring lots of peppermint into our lives and as I mentioned in a prior holiday-themed peppermint review from earlier this week, nutrition bars also join that fray.  Today's review is thinkThin adding another product to their review catalog with this thinkThin Dark Chocolate Peppermint Protein & Fiber Bar being a spin on the holiday peppermint craze.  This very thin bar clocks in at 1.41 ounces and has 150 calories and ten grams of protein packed in.  It's also a gluten free product as well, so there is that, I suppose.

Review: Van's Ultimate Cheddar Penne Gluten Free Pasta

A while back, Van's sent me a box of some of their new gluten free pastas.  I've reviewed one already, but I've been a little slow in getting around to reviewing the others.  The good news is that dried pastas have a long shelf life, so I was able to delay my review of this box of Van's Ultimate Cheddar Penne Gluten Free Pasta until now.  This box of gluten free pasta comes in at 7.0 ounces and within that are three individual servings.  Each one cup serving is 280 calories (prepared) and has a whopping (or so they say) 28 grams of whole grains in every serving.  So, with that, I was ready to dive into Van's take on the American classic dish, macaroni and cheese.

Review: Pure Protein Cranberry Almond Cashew Bar

I mentioned in my last Pure Protein bar review that Kroger sneakily put a couple of new Pure Protein flavors on the shelves of my local store and it was probably quite a while before I actually noticed it.  Well, I picked up a couple of those and today's review of this Pure Protein Cranberry Almond Cashew Bar is the second of those reviews.  Like the last, this one was $1.00 and it comes in at 1.58 ounces with 200 calories and eighteen grams of protein.  It's also gluten free for the celiacs of the world as well.

Review: Promax LS Salted Caramel Protein Bar

I mentioned a while back that Promax had sent me some bars as free samples to review and while I've gotten to some of them in reviews, I haven't really been rushing to get everything done.  I don't know why, but that has been the case.  Anyway, I figured today was as good as any to knock out another one of those bars, so that leads me to today's review of this Promax LS Salted Caramel Protein Bar.  LS means lower sugar and this bar is also lower carb, so there's that.  That also means that for a fairly large 2.01 ounce bar, this one only packs in 180 calories.  Within that is a robust eighteen grams of protein, so this is "packing", so to speak.  It's also gluten free and kosher, so there's some positivity.

Review: Love Grown Foods Peach Almond Vanilla Hot Oats

I love the clearance aisle.  I love it when I find products that I regularly buy and are near expiration (I'll eat them well before expiration) and I also love it when I find products that I would have either never considered buying or had never heard of.  Today's review is a case of the latter as I was able to find a 2.22 ounce container of this Love Grown Foods Peach Almond Vanilla Hot Oats at Kroger.  Can't really remember the price, but since it was on clearance, that's not a realistic gauge of price anyway.  Within this container are 240 calories and a respectable seven grams of protein.  It's also gluten free.

Review: Van's Blissfully Berry Gluten Free Cereals

So I mentioned in my previous Van's review that someone in their public relations firm (or perhaps department) was kind enough to ship me a couple of boxes of their gluten free cereals for review.  I already looked at one, so today's reviews leads me to take a look a the other box that was shipped to me as I examine this box of Van's Blissfully Berry Gluten Free Cereals.  This box has nine three-quarter cup servings contained within it and each serving comes in at 110 calories.  It's gluten free of course and also hits you up with all sorts of fiber and whole grains, so hooray for that if that is the way that you like to start your day.  The tagline says that you can start your day with a "Blissful Breakfast", so if you are in to fiber and whole grains like this has got, perhaps that is blissful for you.  I'm not really into starting my day at all as I'd rather stay in bed, but to each their own.

Review: Kozy Shack Indulgent Recipe Chocolate Truffle Pudding Cups

I've reviewed Kozy Shack puddings on this blog previously, but I mostly stay away from them because they don't have enough new products and/or I feel that they cost too much.  That's kept me away from them for over two years.  Anyway, their products reside right next to the JELL-O pudding cups in the refrigerator case at Kroger and recently, I noticed that have a new line of puddings called "Indulgent Recipe" focusing on dessert and exotic-type flavors.  I had a digital coupon, so I decided to grab a four pack of this Kozy Shack Indulgent Recipe Chocolate Truffle Pudding Cups.  Can't remember the exact price, but I think the coupon knocked it down to about $2.25.  Each cup in the package comes in at 3.75 ounces and has 200 calories, so it's not a huge container and it's not a diet food.  Clearly, this is indulgent and a "Decadent Dessert Pudding", or so they say.

Review: Van's Cocoa Sensations Gluten Free Cereals

I am proud to say that I've never paid for a Van's product that I've reviewed on this blog.  Wait a minute...why am I proud of that?  I don't know that I should be ashamed of it, but I should be grateful that Van's has been so generous to me to keep sending me free samples to review.  Granted, they are getting some benefit by putting out word of mouth for their product, but they are also giving me content and saving me a few bucks.  Anyway, today's free sample is the first time I've tried one of their cereal products as I'll take a look at this ten ounce box of Van's Cocoa Sensations Gluten Free Cereals.  Not sure on the exact price, but I'm guessing each box could be priced anywhere from $3.00-$5.00 depending on the store.  Each of the nine servings in this box is three-quarters of a cup and comes in at 110 calories.  As the name would also point out, it's also gluten free.  The tagline states that this cereal is "Sweet Sensations by the Spoonful" but I think I'm going to have to be the judge of that!

Review: Quaker Chewy Birthday Cake Granola Bars

It must be new product season for Quaker Chewy bars.  Recently, I've noticed and reviewed several of their new Girl Scouts affiliated flavors, but today I'm going to be taking a look at a new product that is not really affiliated with anything except the anniversary of someone's birth and the dessert related to that.  Yep, it's a box of eight Quaker Chewy Birthday Cake Granola Bars that I stupidly paid the full price of $2.75 for at Marsh.  I say stupidly because they went on sale for $1.99 two days after I bought this box.  AARGH!  Anyway, each bar in the box clocks in at 0.84 ounces and has 100 calories.  Basically, it's a standard Quaker Chewy bar.

Review: Chobani Plum Blended Greek Yogurt

Bizarrely, I've decided to crave yogurt, Greek or otherwise.  Since I write this blog, I tend to not to like to eat the same flavor twice since it seems like such a "wasted opportunity" for me, meaning that I'm not going to eat a flavor of yogurt unless I can get a review out of it.  I've only got so many calories I can consume!  So, I love the fact that Chobani continually rolls out products for me to review and another one of those roll outs has led today's review of a limited batch product in this Chobani Plum Blended Greek Yogurt.  Now, I don't eat a lot of plums and quite frankly, when I think of them, I think of old people.  Not exactly a great start, but I'll try just about anything once.  Anyway, this single cup of Greek yogurt was picked up at Marsh for $1.25 and clocked in at the usual 5.3 ounces and packed in 140 calories and twelve grams of protein.  It's also 2% milkfat, so it's a bit fattier than the typical zero fat yogurt.

Review: Promax LS Chocolate Almond Protein Bar

Recently I was contacted by someone associated with Promax protein bars asking me if I'd like to get some free samples to review for the blog.  They then asked me what flavors I'd like and after looking at the archives of the blog, I realized two things.  First, I haven't reviewed a Promax bar in a really long time (December 2013) and second, I haven't done many Promax reviews at all (only three).  That surprised me because I thought I had done more.  Anyway, I got my free samples and today's review of this Promax LS Chocolate Almond Protein Bar is the first in what will be a numerous amount of Promax reviews coming in the future as I work my way through these bars.  Today's bar is 2.01 ounces and clocks in at 190 calories with eighteen grams of protein.  It's lower sugar (LS) and that means that it's made with 75% less sugar than a comparable protein bar.  In case you have dietary restrictions, it's also gluten free and kosher.

Review: CLIF Organic Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Trail Mix Bar

I went into my local Kroger and while going through the nutrition bar aisle and looking for new products, I noticed what I thought was a whole bunch of new products from CLIF so I snatched up several of them.  When I got home, something about the flavor names seemed strangely familiar to me, so upon doing some research on the blog of old reviews, I was able to discern that CLIF has changed the Mojo product line to just CLIF Organic.  Since I looked at a large variety of Mojo flavors already, I found that most of the bars that I bought were duplicates.  Fortunately, not all was lost though and this CLIF Organic Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Trail Mix Bar is a flavor I hadn't previously reviewed, so here we are today.  This non-duplicate set me back $1.00 (sale price) and it comes in at 1.4 ounces with 200 calories and six grams of protein.

Review: Balance Chocolate Balance Bites

Every now and then the Kroger Free Friday Download promotion will provide a free product that I legitimately get excited about.  Recently, one of those products popped up and I was eager to run to Kroger to grab a bag of these Balance Chocolate Balance Bites at my local store.  I've reviewed plenty of Balance products, but these Bites are something that I've not only never seen, but I've also never heard of before.  That's what got me excited, so I hurriedly grabbed this 1.48 ounce bag of "Bites."  The bag consists of one serving and that serving clocks in at 190 calories with thirteen grams of protein.  It's also gluten free energy, so hooray for that.

Review: BumbleBar Chocolate Crisp Organic Energy Bar

Sometimes a product name can be intriguing.  That was the case with BumbleBar products and it's why I picked up a couple of these at Fresh Thyme for reviews.  I've already looked at one and was decidedly unimpressed, but since I bought two, I was on the hook for another review and that's why we are here today to take a look at this BumbleBar Chocolate Crisp Organic Energy Bar that I grabbed for $1.89  This one is organic, gluten free and vegan friendly and clocks in at 1.4 ounces.  Within that is 190 calories and five grams of protein.

Review: Skinny Cow Triple Chocolate Ripple Low Fat Ice Cream Bars

I've been shying away from Skinny Cow product reviews because their flavors have gone stale and because their products are just too expensive to buy on a regular basis.  On a recent trip to Kroger, not only was I met with a sale but I was also met with some new flavors of products in their low fat ice cream bar line.  One of those products was this box of five Skinny Cow Triple Chocolate Ripple Low Fat Ice Cream Bars that I was able to pick up for $2.99 on sale, which is a pretty solid price for Skinny Cow products.  Typically, they run $4-5.  Anyway, each bar in the box is 2.65 fluid ounces and comes in at 170 calories per bar.

Review: NuGo Slim Brownie Crunch Bar

NuGo has had nearly a one year rest in reviews on this blog. so it's been a while.  Mostly that's been because I haven't been able to find any other flavors in my usual haunts.  Some time back, I took a voyage to Fresh Thyme and picked up a lot of different bars for reviews and this was one of those bars.  Finally, I'm getting around to taking a taste of this NuGo Slim Brownie Crunch Bar that I was able to pick up for $1.89.  The bar itself is gluten free and also clocks in at 1.59 ounces with 190 calories and sixteen grams of protein.

Review: Go Raw Real Live Apricot Bar

Who doesn't like to Go Raw from time to time?  I mean, nothing feels better than having a cool breeze on the ol' bare skin.  I'm just going to stop there before this turns into a late night Cinemax movie.  Plus, I don't want to scare away any readers.  Anyway, as part of my many time aforementioned Fresh Thyme trip, I picked up this Go Raw Real Live Apricot Bar for $0.99 to add to the growing Go Raw product review collection.  Like the last bar, this one clocks in at a measly 0.46 ounces and also packs a tiny 50 calories with one gram of protein.  It's all natural, gluten free, nut free, organic and wheat free as well.  Long story short...it's RAW and REAL.
