Queen Maxima of the Netherlands looks ethereal in monochrome ensemble as she attends event on financial health in London

Queen Maxima of the Netherlands looked ethereal in a monochromatic ensemble as she stepped out for an event on financial health in London today.

The 53-year-old Dutch royal picked an elegant calf-length cream dress for her visit on Wednesday - one day after she addressed the Financial Times Global Banking Summit.

Former banker Maxima put on a glamorous display as she wore a matching cape over the dress and finished the look with a pair of tan suede stilletos.

As she stepped out of her car on a chilly morning in London, Maxima kept herself warm by adding a belted camel-coloured coat over her dress and leather gloves

Maxima wore her hair in a simple bun and kept her makeup looking fresh and natural.

She accessorised with a pair of diamond earrings, a couple of bracelets, and a watch - with Maxima looking completely focused on her tour of what appeared to be the Mastercard offices in London.

Her visit comes one day after Maxima spoke at the ongoing Global Banking Summit.

Maxima, who is UN Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Financial Health, joined several banking CEOs for the annual summit.

The mother-of-three and former banker put on a glamorous display in a midnight blue suit, adorned with glitter and gold plated buttons.

She matched her blue suit with a set of sapphire drop earrings, an elegant watch and silver chain bracelet.

Maxima wore typically glamorous makeup with a flawless glowing base, bronze accentuated cheeks and a dark smoky eye. She finished the look with a flush of highlighter and a rose pink lip.

The queen looked polished with a deep red manicure and her dusty blonde tresses worn down at her shoulders.

Visiting the UK capital, the royal will likely attempt to squeeze in a visit with her daughter, Princess Alexia, who is currently studying at University College London

The 19-year-old, who is the middle child of Queen Maxima and King Willem-Alexander, 57, is studying Science and Engineering for Social Change at the British university.

Maxima - who has a background in finance and was working in the industry when she first met her husband - was one of several experts to attend the Financial Times event on Tuesday.

Among those were Filippo Gori, CEO of J. P. Morgan, Francesca Carlesi, UK CEO of Revolut and other bank leaders from Barclays, NatWest and Deutshe Bank.

During the summit, several themes - including geopolitics, economics, technology, climate and investment - concerning the banking sphere were discussed.

During the event, the Queen chatted to keynote speaker Silvia Pavoni, editor-in-chief of the monthly publication The Banker, setting out her vision for financial health.

Alongside this mission, the queen is working to advocate for financial products, services and policies that can enable more people manage their daily income and spending, allowing them to invest their money or work towards financial goals.

Later in the summit, the royal will also take part in two roundtables discussions, including Unlocking Affordable Credit Access in the UK and Innovations in Workplace Emergency Savings Initiatives

It comes after the Dutch royal family were seen snapping up group pictures for their official Christmas photograph.

Last week, the family gathered at the Begijnhof in Amsterdam alongside their beloved dog.

Queen Maxima and King Willem-Alexander beamed as they huddled next to their three daughters in the enclosed courtyard which dates back to the 14th century.

Princess Amalia, 20, Princess Alexia, 19, and Princess Ariane, 17, all wore long winter coats as they stood and smiled with their parents.

The official portrait is organised to ensure that the Dutch royal family's privacy is respected by the media.

But instead of looking at the cameras, the family-of-five were left red faced as their beloved dog Mambo frolicked on the grass nearby.

The family adopted Mambo in October 2021 and he was introduced on the family's social media for World Pet Day.

Although Mambo is an integral part of their lives, the Dutch royals are also the proud owners of three Labradors named Skipper, Luna and Nala.
