North Sydney: Ugly road rage incident caught on video as motorists clash and one appears to spit on the other's car

A wild road rage incident between two men on one of Sydney's busiest roads has been caught on camera.

The ugly confrontation occurred just outside of a medical centre along a stretch of the Pacific Highway in North Sydney.

The footage taken by a bystander shows the younger of the two men appearing to spit on the other driver's car and smashing him with his own car door.

A passerby can be seen stopping in the background to watch the incident while drivers who were patiently waiting to turn right were also brought to a standstill.

The younger man can initially be seen reaching inside the driver's side window of a Mazda CX-5 before walking away and appearing to spit in the direction of the car.

The driver of the Mazda then attempted to exit the car to confront the man but instead had the car door shoved against him, appearing to smash against his neck and leg.

In response, the Mazda driver briefly raised his fist as the other driver started to walk back to his Audi SUV.

Social media users were incensed by the confrontation, many taking aim at the younger man for appearing to be the aggressor.

'Spitting (is) the lowest of lows... Embarrassing behaviour,' one user wrote.

'Don’t f*** with the Boomer, he may teach you lesson or two,' a second wrote.

'Very sad that he could not take a deep breath and move on with his day,' a third wrote.
