David Beckham has bagged nearly £29 million of payouts after his Netflix show proved a hit.

Brand Beckham more than doubled profits in 2023, thanks to the documentary, which followed the former England captain and his wife Victoria.

Beckham's huge £28.8m dividend came after he sold a chunk of his business empire - which includes deals with firms such as Stella Artois and Ninja - two years ago.

He now owns 45pc after selling the remaining 55pc slice to buyout group Authentic Brands, which also owns UK fashion chain Ted Baker.

In total, there were significant payouts with £22.6 million of dividends paid to shareholders over 2023 and a further £40.5 million at the start of 2024.

His brands saw sales climb to £72.3m, 2pc higher than 2022 while profits soared to £28.9 million - more than doubling from £12.8 million in 2022.

Fan frenzy for Posh and Becks has rocketed since Beckham, the series produced by David's Studio 99 TV firm, was one of the most popular shows on the streaming service across the world last year.

The docuseries featured never-before-seen footage of the football hero's astronomical rise from working-class beginnings to global stardom.

Freshly filed accounts dubbed the show a 'resounding success', after it helped the production company make £11.9m in sales.

This is the cherry on the cake for the 49-year-old, who spent Christmas in Miami with wife Victoria and his four children.

Former Spice Girl Victoria shared a Christmas snap of the family celebrating the holidays together abroad this week.

The post was captioned with a wholesome message: 'Being together for the holidays makes me so happy xxxx I love you all so much'.

Netflix success has also helped David to gain a wider social media following - he now has 88 million followers on Instagram.

The figures come as a breath of fresh air amid recent backlash for the couple's third eldest child, Cruz. A teaser for his latest song 'For Ya Love' sparked debates over his 'nepo baby' status on Instagram this weekend.

The 19-year-old lashed back at critics with a comment that 'Jesus was a nepo baby' which he swiftly deleted less than 12 hours later.

Victoria's new fashion and beauty business has enjoyed better business since 2022, with sales rising by 52pc to £89.1 million in 2023.
