This incredible new footage shows the moment the largest great white shark ever filmed tries to take a bite out of a diving cage containing four cameramen.
The 20ft-long female known as Deep Blue stunned the world last year when video was unveiled of it dwarfing cage divers off the coast of Guadalupe Island, Mexico.
Now new footage taken from inside the cage has been released by Michael Maier, who described the moment they saw her emerge from the deep water below them.

Deep Blue was photographed circling the divers in a spot near Guadalupe Island, off the coast of Mexico's Baja California

New footage has emerged of the interaction between the shark and divers, which was filmed three years ago but only released in 2015

Researchers estimated the 20ft-long female great white shark was more than 50 years old and heavily pregnant at the time
Mr Maier, 48, said: 'Deep Blue is a very large female shark and she is known to be found in Mexico. When we entered the water we had to wait because there was nothing to see.
'All of a sudden out of the deep blue, there she came. We realised almost immediately that she was very big.
'She was very calm and not at all nervous and was circling us. She was very interested and was looking at us.
'During the circles we realised just how big she was - she must have been something like seven metres long. Everything was very well prepared. The whole team felt safe.
'We had a very long beautiful dive with her and we were all very much enthusiastic about the encounter.'
The footage shows Deep Blue swimming towards the divers inside their protective cage, taking an inquisitive bite at the metal before feasting on a piece of fish.
The shark then passes the second cage very closely - offering a fleeting glimpse of Deep Blue's huge teeth before she swims away again.

Despite this, one of the divers managed to reach out and touch her fin as she lost interest in the cage and swam away

New footage of the massive shark (pictured) has been released by Michael Maier, who participated in the remarkable dive

He described Deep Blue as being calm and not at all nervous when she swam over to the cage and stared at the group
Mr Maier, a salesman from near Cologne, Germany, has previously dived with other sharks including tiger sharks and bull sharks.
He added: 'What I love about diving with sharks is the massive force of these animals in combination with different elements.
'It is never hectic; it is quiet, it is reassuring and it's just very beautiful to be with them in the water and to dive with them.
'I feel like the luckiest guy to have been able to catch Deep Blue on video and still when I watch it I am very happy and still enthusiastic again.'
Deep Blue, who is estimated to be at least 50 years old, was filmed by Mr Maier in November 2013 - but this latest footage was previously unseen.
Shortly after the interaction, the massive predator led the group of researchers to where she more than likely feeds - an elephant seal colony.
At the time the fish was filmed it was pregnant and measured more than 20ft in length.
Great white sharks are the largest predatory fish on earth and typically grow to around 15 feet in length and weigh up to 5,000 pounds.

Mr Maier also said she appeared to be 'very interested' in the group of cage divers and circled them several times while looking at them
