Fans are calling for Cuban-American rapper Pitbull to be appointed to the US senate.
The tongue-in-cheek campaign kicked off on social media following news that President-elect Donald Trump will soon appoint Florida Sen. Marco Rubio as Secretary of State.
Now music fans have swarmed social media with pleas to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to have Timber hitmaker Pitbull fill Rubio's empty seat.
'Wouldn’t it be ironic if Sen. Rubio became SecState and was replaced by someone called Mr. Worldwide,' wrote one fan, referring to Pitbull's nickname.
'If they started calling it "The United States Senate, featuring Pitbull" I'd go all in for this!' wrote another.

'I guess the people of South Florida want Pitbull to take Rubio's senate seat lol,' joked one.
Pitbull joined the music scene in 2004 with the single Culo and went on to land bigger hits like Krazy and Give Me Everything.
Rubio, who was elected to the Senate in 2010, is considered a foreign policy hawk and will lead Trump's prowess on the world stage.
He currently serves as the top Republican on the Senate Intelligence Committee and was considered to be on Trump's shortlist for vice president earlier this year.
Rubio ran for president unsuccessfully in 2016 against Trump in a crowded field of GOP hopefuls.
And although the two sparred during the primary, Rubio stumped for Trump on the campaign trail in recent weeks.
Rubio said recently that Trump's brash language could win him the presidency because candidates that use emotional words get more votes in times of crisis.
It proved to be true as Trump swept all seven swing states and won the popular vote for the first time in decades for the Republicans.
