How TV presenter Steve Jones found love with his 'incredible' wife Phylicia after a string of wild star-studded romances - including trysts with Pamela Anderson and flying to LA for a date with Halle Berry

He has previously described his marriage to his wife Phylicia Jackson-Jones as his 'greatest achievement' and 'the best thing that ever happened to him'.

And now, TV presenter Steve Jones, 47, has again proudly praised his 'amazing' partner, 39, as he opened up on her 'brutal' fertility and endometriosis journey, and gushed that he's 'lucky to have her with or without children'.

In an emotional interview on the Who We Are Now podcast with Richard Hammond and his daughter Izzy, he explained: 'I never thought I could love her more than I already did, but to see her go through it all just being so stoic and, you know, dignified and strong.

'She's an amazing woman, just incredible. I'm so lucky to have her and with kids, without kids. I just don't care, as long as she's in my life. She's an amazing person.'

But before Steve became besotted with Phylicia and put his womanising ways in the past, the TV star was linked to a string of household stars over the years.

Here, MailOnline looks at how the Welshman finally found true love with his wife after his wave of star-studded romances - from his trysts to Pamela Anderson to his relationship with ex Alex Jones.

Phylicia Jackson-Jones

Steve and Phylicia met 11 years ago while Steve was working in America on The X Factor USA and Phylicia was a photographer.

While his performance was largely panned, Steve considers his time there a success as it brought him to his now-wife, who is from Las Vegas.

Speaking to Radio Times in 2015 about their first meeting, he recalled: 'I was out in LA at my mate's birthday and she was there with a group of her friends, I was there with a group of mine.

'One of my wife's friends came to talk to one of my friends. We turned around and both masses of people met in the middle and I thought 'Oh, you're nice!'

'I asked her on a date and here we are, married. It was very traditional in that sense… she always said to me that I was a little bit cold, because I was talking to one of my friends about a serious subject, and I wanted to finish the chat first rather than go, 'excuse me, there's a woman over there!'

After a whirlwind romance and a two-month road trip around Europe in the summer, he proposed in front of Phylicia's family in Italy in September 2014 after she relocated from Los Angeles to the UK with him in 2013.

They went on to tie the knot in a low-key ceremony at the Mayfair Library in London in October 2014.

In 2022, Steve insisted he's finally put his womanising ways in the past after marrying Phylicia, with the star describing their union as his 'greatest achievement'.

He insisted he now only has eyes for Phylicia, who he describes as his 'absolute favourite person'.

He told The Mirror: 'My good marriage, my healthy marriage – it's my greatest achievement.

'I love being with my wife. She's my absolute favourite person.'

Speaking of their wedding, a source told the Daily Mirror at the time: 'It might seem to have happened incredibly quickly to outsiders given that they only had a few weeks to plan the entire day but they couldn't be happier.'

The presenter said in 2015: 'The problem though is that Phylicia's so fantastic I want to keep marrying her.

'I love her so much that I keep thinking, 'Right, I'm going to propose in this moment, because she's so perfect,' and then I think, 'Oh wait a minute, she's already my wife!''

On Tuesday, Steve opened up on the 'tough period' the couple have recently gone through while trying to start a family, emotionally describing it as one of 'the hardest things' he's ever been through.

Steve applauded his wife for the bravery she has shown after getting the news last year that 'it's not happening'.

He recalled: 'It's been a tough, tough few years. I mean, probably the hardest thing I've ever…

'You know, life's thrown me a few curveballs over the years, but this is one of the hardest things I've ever been through, just seeing Phylicia try to start that family.

'To see her put her body through everything she's put it through due to endometriosis, the multiple surgeries, and for the conclusion to be it ain't happening, which was the news we got I think last year. It's been brutal.'

Despite the outcome of their fertility journey not being what they hoped for, Steve continues to praise his wife for everything she has been through.

In 2003, Steve landed a presenting job on weekend show T4 after he interviewed Angelina Jolie on the red carpet, and revealed at the time he had split from Alex.

Alex has previously told the story, admitting she broke up with her partner over the betrayal, but has never before named Steve as the culprit.

She discussed what happened with Dish podcast hosts Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett as she detailed stories from her personal life.

The One Show host said she worked as an entertainment correspondent on Channel 4 show Rise when the opportunity to interview Angelina Jolie rose, until Steve stole the show.

'Normally they would call in the morning and ask to come and do an interview or a junket', Alex shared.

'I was staying in his flat at the time when I was working in London and he picked up the landline and said 'Al's not here. She's not feeling well, she's had to go back to Cardiff', I was in Topshop.'

However she then discovered he was dating British TV presenter Fearne Cotton.

She said: 'Oh, Steve has a new girlfriend? S***. I had no idea. S***. I wouldn't have come back to London if I had known that,' Anderson told The Mirror. 'He just texted me last night. He didn't say anything. Oh s***.'

She added: 'I still love Steve. He's great. He's the best. I love his accent. He should've warned me about his girlfriend though!'

Like Angelina, Halle Berry, Natalie Imbruglia and Paris Hilton all also have reportedly handed over their numbers to him after being interviewed by Steve.

Kylie Minogue refused to be interviewed by him because she 'just didn't want to be tempted', Kate Moss's nickname for him is 'Jump His Bones'.

American actress Halle reportedly did give the presenter her phone number, which led to him making a 12,000-mile round trip to Los Angeles so they could have dinner together.

According to The Standard, he spent a whopping 20 hours on the plane and forked out £1,000 for travel just to spend a few hours with her.

Back in 2012, Steve said: 'I'm not saying much about it - a gentlemen never tells. She is going through a hard time and I don't want to add to it. But she is a lovely lady.'

Amy Nuttall

Steve and Amy apparently dated for a bit in early 2005.

However the actress revealed they had called time on their relationship after just four months, according to a report in the Mirror at the time.

Steve and Fearne dated briefly for three months in 2008.

It was claimed at the time that the legendary lothario was unable to control his wandering eye, while Fearne decided that he wasn't the man for her.

A source said at the time: 'It was a whirlwind affair and initially extremely intense. Unfortunately, though, things fizzled out just as quickly.

'Steve isn't ready to settle down and commit to just one lady while Fearne had only recently come out of a long-term relationship when they met, and didn't want to rush into anything serious either.

'Neither party has any regrets, as it was great while it lasted. They had a lot of fun but if Fearne is going to be with someone there has got to be more to it than this.

'Their romance crashed and burned. They are trying to stay friendly, but it's not always easy.'

The former couple were spotted on a series of dates at a series of fancy London restaurants and nights out in the early days of their relationship, but sadly the spark soon fizzled.

Sarah Harding

In February 2012, it was revealed that the late Sarah Harding had rekindled her romance with Steve following a brief relationship with Stephen Dorff.

At the time, they were spotted was 'all over' each other at a Soho bar.

An onlooker said: 'Steve looked pretty drunk but Sarah didn't seem to mind. She was sitting on his knee and kissing him passionately. They had three friends on their table but it was obvious they felt uncomfortable.'

However their rekindled romance was short-lived as they soon moved on with other people.

The Heroes star called off the fledgling romance because, it turned out, she's just not that into him.

She told the Mirror at the time: 'I'm single and mingling. Steve lives in London, the distance is a bit too much,'

'Cannes was a great experience. I was on vacation and some friends were going so I decided to come along. It was fun.'

The pair enjoyed a whirlwind summer fling that first began in May over dinner at London's Nobu Berkeley in Mayfair with a group of friends, including Elton John's husband David Furnish.

Just days later, they fast-tracked matters with a romantic trip to France where they frolicked aboard a luxury boat during the Cannes Film Festival.

Steve was visibly delighted during the trip while the actress managed to play it cool, but she then hinted that she was not as taken by Steve as he may have expected.

'I don't know how to date,' she admitted in a separate interview with Seventeen magazine.

'I'm not good at learning that sometimes you don't like someone in that way - and figuring out how to deal with that. Because I don't want to hurt his feelings.'

Fashion editor Zana

A Daily Mail journalist witnessed his chat-up technique on a plane to New York.

He moved from first class to sit on the floor in economy for six hours and bought endless drinks for a pretty blonde fashion editor called Zana.

He told lots of funny stories and then presented her with a banana with his number cut into it. They dated for six months.

Discussing the encounter in a 2009 interview, Steve said: 'Oh god. I was horribly drunk. It wasn't very subtle was it?

'But for the record she texted me after a couple of days to say: 'My banana has gone bad. I need another one.' Definitely my type of girl.'
