Killalea Regional Park is on Dharawal Country in the Illawarra Region; it was gazetted as part of the NSW national parks estate on 1 July 2022. The park has significant cultural and ecological importance and receives over 30,000 visitors a month.
The park protects habitat for a number of threatened animal and plant species and includes important ecological communities, including coastal freshwater wetlands and littoral rainforests.
