I'll give an explanation and announcement after the break!

As of June this month, it will officially be 11 years since ponies grew legs, travelled to another dimension, and went to high school with Equestria Girls. What a better way to look back on a spin off than thinking what could've happened in those 11 years. Time sure goes by fast. Luckily, I had the right timing to do a video on what I think they were doing all this time.
Art submissions are the bulk of what EQD gets every single day, and for the past few months the AI submissions have been absolutely nuts, with a whopping 8 of them today from all different email addresses. Since half of them actually do say they are AI and are not trying to be sneaky about it, I think we need another clarification post.
So, head on down below for EQD's official stance on AI art submissions, fully clarified for all to hopefully stop spamming us!
A LOT of you made ponies since we posted up the Open Pony article back on May 9th, but one bit of feedback a lot of people are seeing is that the newer people have no idea what to do now that they have their cartoon horse made. Second Life is a huge game and finding things can be pretty daunting. If you search for My Little Pony in the in-game browser, there is a good chance you will find a pony "sim" (the Second Life name for server), but you probably won't find many people there. Where is everyone hanging out?
This post will hopefully give you a little bit of direction on where to go next. Pony Town is where the guide originally had you begin, but it's more of a display piece than a hangout these days. I'm not going to bombard you with words here about everything there is to know about each area since we have a separate community focused post coming up, but I will give you some links to check out and hopefully find some other pony fans to talk to and interact with. At the end of the day, Second Life is a social game. There aren't ladders to battle it out on or stats to level up (outside of specific sims that are essentially games of their own). Your pony is simply an avatar to customize and hang out with other cartoon horse enthusiasts with.
Anyway, get a location guide below!
There are many frustrating things on this wonderful planet we call Earth. From housing prices skyrocketing to levels that make zero sense, to people leaving out raw meat out at the grocery store because they are too lazy to bring it back to the cold section, or even your TV getting ads on it after a random forced update. Life is filled with RAGE-inducing things!
For a lot of people, making their first popen is about on that level. Wrangling Second Life and not obliterating your adorable cartoon horse waifu is a lesson in frustration if you've never used it before.
Today I grace you with my awful vocal skills to show off how to make your very own OpenPony! That's right. I made a video that isn't 30 seconds of a pony dancing. An actual useful bit of filmography if you happen to want to venture into this weird digital fandom filled with 3D equines that bark at each-other.
Head on down below to learn how to make a popen!
Over in the wild world of Twitter, there is a growing sentiment that there are, in fact, two active pony fandoms right now. It's an interesting concept, and something I think surprised a lot of us over the past few months while it broils. You may have seen videos like Makaryo's "WHY I LIKE MLP G5" that has furthered this concept, with the story of an artist that was getting actual death threats for posting G5 content instead of G4.
Personally, I had no idea this was a thing. G5 content has fused right into G4 here on EQD. Even the chaotic 4chan community is almost completely merged at this point, with a few vocal outliers demanding separation while being largely ignored.
It's all real though, and on Twitter has become somewhat of a blight. Lets dive in and see exactly what's going on!
Magic the Gathering announced Ponies: The Galloping 2 way back in September of 2023, and the sets are finally arriving at people's houses if you pre-ordered them. This one included Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, and Fluttershy as playable legendary creatures, but they've thrown a curveball into the mix! Apparently DISCORD was added at the last minute.
Discord, Lord of Disharmony costs 2 colorless, one black, and one red, with a very chaotic effect:
Flying
At the beginning of your end step, choose a random nonland Magic card name. Until your next end step, you may cast a copy of a spell with that name, and mana of any type can be spent to cast it. If you cast a spell this way, copy this ability if Discord is on the battlefield.
What kind of chaotic deck will you make for him? I posted up a funny way to get Twilight's coilition victory a few months ago if you want to try that out. Time to make the Discord deck!
After four whole years, we FINALLY have the rest of the mane cast to actually make Twilight Sparkle's "everypony wins" effect work! There have been weird workarounds with clones and shapeshifters people have come up with, but nothing felt satisfying. We needed the other four horses!
Luckily, Hasbro has delivered and they are all weird and interesting to build decks around. I couldn't just leave Twilight to a bad equine tribal deck or voltron though. She needs a proper victory where EVERYPONY WINS.
I've put together a stupid, silly, friendly, and combotastic EDH deck that I hope you will enjoy. Expect some expensive cards here, so hopefully hopefully your groups allow proxies or playing online. To make this combo work while being FRIENDSHIP FOCUSED we are going to have to dig into the power cards~
Lets get down to business. Head on below for how we can make Twily and friends rainboom to victory!
Hard to believe this was 10 years ago huh? Are you guys feeling old yet? ‘Cause I sure as heck am! That said, even if it was a long time ago, if you were in the brony community in early 2013, you probably remember when Twilight was on the road to becoming an alicorn princess, and the subsequent reaction. And by reaction, I mean the internet losing its collective mind! But like it or not, Magical Mystery Cure is a monumental episode in Friendship is Magic, and looking back on it, it had a profound effect on me and my perception not just on MLP, but television in general.
So today, on the 10th anniversary of Magical Mystery Cure’s premiere (we’re all ooooooooold!!)I want to talk a bit about how the debut of Alicorn Princess Twilight Sparkle affected me.
Howdy everypony. If the polls are anything to go by, a good amount of you are quite excited about gen 5. We have a lot of answers ahead of us and I know I am excited to see what they bring. As most of us have likely seen by now, we just want to swing by and pass along a few reminders. As with G4, we know some people may not see eye to eye on some things. Maybe it is something within the fandom, or the direction of the show or official content itself. Regardless it is important we understand that people like things for different reasons, and that is ok.
It is certainly not acceptable to treat or speak hatefully to someone because of these opposing opinions though, and we all know from time to time that happens within any fandom. As we continue to hold strong the values of love and tolerance I would encourage all of us to do are best in treating one another respectfully. This also applies to when we engage with show staff. I know I am not the only one who is blown away by the continued support and engagement from those who make the show we love, and unlike the early years of G4 we now have quite a few fans on staff as well. It is important we also do our best to be supportive of those that go above and beyond to make pony the best it can be.
Recently, I have had numerous reports of show staff being harassed on Twitter, and that reflects poorly on us and the community we represent. These are people just like us who are putting a ton of hard work into bringing us the best pony cartoon they can, and we have to be understanding of the fact some things don't always come out the way we expect them to.
With that being said, we all have a lot of love for pony and will stick around while there is still fun to be had. I know I'm not alone when I say that this new generation has a lot of opportunity, and likely tons of surprises around the corner. Let's all remember, the ride never ends!
You would think after turning back from Nightmare Moon, Luna would have some more opinions about Nightmare Night and having her past literally haunting her. But many be no grudge was ever there (regardless of the Tantabus issue). Let's look a little further into this spook day and its history both real and pony based.
You've probably heard mumblings of "machine learning" for the better part of the last half a decade now, and filed it away in that part of your brain that finds something mildly interesting but way out of your skillset. I know I have. While most of us saw Google's quirky deepmind images in 2016 and thought nothing of it, others saw the beginnings of something revolutionary and ran with it. We now see startups, hobbyists, and major AI focused companies popping up all over the place.
Stuff like Talknet and 15.ai have been astounding people with pony voice work, while AI Dungeon and Novel AI take your Equestria prompts and write entire stories for you. Now we have the next big thing - art. A medium I doubt anyone really expected to make so much progress so quickly.
I dove into the Purplesmart.ai Discord server to see exactly what is going on in this crazy new world.
Read about it all below!
For everyone out there who has joined me in OpenPony shenanigans, today begins one of the biggest months for Second Life, where pretty much all the sims throw up events celebrating Halloween to both play around with your popen, or decorate it with a host of costumes.
As of today, Luna's Empire has started up their event. Within, you will find a beautiful haunted Ponyville decked out in graveyards, ghosts, pumpkins, and of course Nightmare Moon as an overall theme. The entire area is dedicated to one big game where you run (or fly) around capturing a variety of specters with a gun straight out of Ghost Busters. Each ghost captured earns you points which can then be spent for a bunch of different rewards, from costumes to skins, and even furniture with custom animations for your houses.
I'll break it all down below!
In my journey into OpenPony oblivion over the past few months, I've run into a bunch of other pony models that people still use just due to how much time and money they've invested into them. Some have commissions 3D artists for hundreds of accessories, or just bought things various people sell. Out of curiousity, I asked around looking for someone who had all the models in a single OC, and finally found one!
Flutterbubber Hollowheart here models her pony in it's various forms, from the earliest "Curly Fride" mares of 2011, to the modern day OpenPony you've seen me spamming here and on Twitter. How has the Second Life community evolved on the 3D department over the last decade? It's pretty fascinating to see all of the iterations.
Below, you will find a gallery of a good chunk of them, minus a few super rare or one of a kind forms. These are the pony models that were sold or given away with mass adoption in some form. As an added bonus, I also have an anthro section following the regular pony one, where people converted their horses into furry and bipedal forms of various types. Go check it all out if you are interested at all in 3D art! Which ones do you like the most?
The Second Life horse community continues to thrive with all of you crazy new OpenPonies flooding in! If you have no idea what that is, you can find the article going over them over here.
A new sim called Freezian Junction has opened up, adding a neat little frozen north style medieval town over the water, complete with blacksmith shops, cozy hangouts, and a little mini dungeon where you can earn a bunch of freebies to deck your Popen out in.
Included in the mix is the star of the show, a new OpenPony armor set that is completely free. All you need to do is delve into the "Trial Caverns" and find it. The place is littered with traps, giant spiders, monsters, and the usual silly Second Life stuff. It doesn't take long to walk out with your very own set.
I've slapped some pictures and some examples of the armor below! Freezian can be accessed over at this URL. It is a region with no rules against adult stuff though, so be wary if you want to avoid that content.

WeAreBorg here, emerged from my hole in spacetime, to speak about an important April topic, how awesome the Kirin are. In fact, I would like to list for you, the best of the best of Kirin kind.
Join me below the break on my breakdown of everything amazing about the Kirin and the amazing Kirins that make Kirins amazing.
As of this morning, we finally have a grand reveal for 2D side series that will join our 3D specials and show later in the year. This one has had mixed reactions from the fandom compared to the actual movie which was largely loved. How do you think it will be received?
Many are comparing My Little Pony: Tell Your Tale to Pony Life. As someone who did watch the entirety of that hyper little bridge series, it definitely wasn't as awful as a lot of people made it out to be, but it also didn't have a whole lot of substance. Here in EQD land, we saw very little interest for it once it started airing, and weekly episode posts were basically ignored. Overall it was pretty obvious that at least from our side of the fandom, Pony Life was kind of a dud.
Will "Tell Your Tale" follow a similar trend? From what little we know about it and based on the 30 second teaser, it seems to be running on the same super-speedy slapstick humor style that Pony Life did, with a less chibi but still close art style. They both share the shorts format too, with Pony Life typically packing 2-3 little stories in each episode, while "Tell Your Tale" will be weekly 5ish minute bits for the next year. Can that keep people's interest is the question!
Anyway, this turned into an editorial rather than just a discussion, so continue below!
The kirin are a resource we need to take advantage of. At least in the US, heating accounts for a tremendous amount of energy usage every winter. It is time to embrace the kirin.
Below, we discuss strategy to keep things nice and warm during those long winter months, via the best thing to happen in the last two seasons of pony. Please enjoy this incredibly well researched post that definitely wasn't thrown together in an afternoon because I'm bored. Yep.
And now we come to the grand slam finale of this 3 part special with Mirror Magic, where all canon and theories burn and new theories emerge from the ashes because this was a ride of a special. I remember watching it for the first time and seeing the title card and thought “ok something going on with Juniper and I guess she’s back for vengeance. I didn’t expect fully what I got. If I were to put a moral to this special, it would be that life is too short to worry about fame and popularity and vengeance. Either than or be sure to not mess up the fabric of time and space because of a cute face.
