Hello Dean. I wanted to ask you one important question I've been meaning to ask you. Do we get to find out what happened to Lucy after she was visited by Imastious? (I thought he might turn her out of spite). And does Geoffrey finally remember who Lucy is and what she means to him. I was heartbroken when I saw the ending to A Darkness Mirrored. I'm glad that you enjoyed A Darkness Mirrored so much! I definitely plan on picking Lucy's story back up. In fact, I originally tried to write her story into Driven, but it ended up not gelling with what was going on with Geoffrey and Jasmin.

There is a ton that will end up happening with Geoffrey, Lucy, and the rest--I just need to get clear of The Compelled Chronicles and A Broken World and then I'll be picking the Reflections Universe back up.(less)

I'm glad that you're enjoying Broken so much, and that it is sparking your own creativity!

I don't know that I'm the best one to offer up advice about writing, but there are a few things I can suggest that may be helpful.

1. Try to write every day--even just a little. I find that getting writing again after I stop is really difficult, but when I have the habit of writing 6 days a week, things go much more smoothly and books sometimes seem to come together almost of their own accord.

2. Focus on the story and the characters. I think that is what makes for a more compelling book than something with lots of pretty phrases and stunning dialogue that never seems to go anywhere.

3. Be ready to practice a lot. Writing is just like anything else, it takes practice to get better at it.
